Not running the ball good has been good enough to beat SHU and JSU, but it won't be to beat SDSU. SIU, probably playing a tougher schedule (and I do think the MVFC is overrated) has a better offense, including passing, than UD (UD has the edge on defense).

The only team that was able to beat SDSU (UND in their dome) back in late Feb (the 2nd game for the true Fr SDSU QB) was able to run somewhat on SDSU (177 yds). The team that came the next closest to beating SDSU. YSU, 196 yds in a 19-17 loss. The next highest was SIU in the 120s both times. Lost 44-3 and 31-26. SIU threw for only 92 in the 1st meeting, 316 on Sun (the most against SDSU this season). The 2nd game was probably closer in part because its hard to be up for a rematch of a team you destroyed by 41..SDSU also has a better pass defense than JSU, who UD threw for 266 against. UD isn't going to throw for over 300 on SDSU, so I think UD will have to run the ball in the 150 ballpark to win.

Great stats, but they don't mean as much in this very peculiar year. Heck, you can't even take much from the JSU game - once the QB went down and UD was up 14-0 the game was essentially over - the remaining 2.5 quarters were like watching a four corners offense in college basketball prior to the shot clock.

I noticed it here, that someone thought the MVFC was over-rated. My post were responses to the author of that phrase, not to the Delaware team or fans.

They lost to the seeded teams as expected, and were called over-rated. An unseeded NDSU defense did a better job against Sam than JMU did. Can't say much about the offense though.
