Drew Hubel, junior QB from Corvallis, OR is the starter for Portland State. Threw for 9 TD's in his debut as a freshman against Weber State two years ago. Also threw for 620 (?) yards against EWU last year. Battled Tygue Howland for starting honors last year. Rumor has it that Davis liked Howland's potential, but Glanville liked Hubel's results. Any controversy became moot this year when Howland suffered another season ending injury in spring camp.
No doubt Hubel is looking forward to the Oregon State game.

Cavanaugh's brother also plays for the Beavs. It would be nice to see him get some playing time, but definitely not at the expense of Hubel, although they both put up some strong numbers at the Oregon Shrine game a few years back. Also, I heard that one of the backups was on the Beavs roster awhile back. Old home weekend!

Sorry AZ, Higgins will only be a junior this season, next year will be his last season, but this is Trevyn's last season.
I can't imagine anyone other than #11 Jason Smith (Jr) starting for Sac State as he had the most playing time as a starter last year. #9 McLeod Bethel-Thompson (Jr) is most likely the #2 guy as he saw some playing time last year as well. Either #14 John Loeliger (Sr) or #19 Dominic Carmazzi (Fr) at 3rd string. But I guess you really never know until the first snap.
AJ Tuscano and Trudnowski had a hell of a battle during fall camp for Chuck South. AJ gets the nod for now, but watch for Trudnowski down the road. This guy has a rocket for an arm and I have a feeling as soon as he gets up to speed with the offense, you will see alot of him.
Losing Sean Schaefer, to graduation, has left an enormous gaping hole. RS Sophomore Blair Peterson (transfer from New Mexico State) appeared to be the starter after spring ball. But reports coming out of summer camp are pointing to true freshman Peter Athens making a move and getting considerable reps.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."
