I never realized NCU fans got so touchy over the subject of their name....

There was a time not long ago when Colorado had both UNC and USC. But, the latter wizened up and became CSU-Pueblo.

Colorado also has CU = University of Colorado (thus CU-Boulder, CU-Colorado Springs, and CU-Denver) and DU = University of Denver. I think they have hit their quota on dyslexic schools.

There wasn't a suggestion in my post. Just statements of fact and one opinion not to have another school with reversed letters. Keep it UNC. That is the way I know the school.

But, since you obviously don't want any support, I may have to reconsider that opinion.

Of course, UNC doesn't want to play basketball with UVU, after going 0-7 against the then UVSC in the first 3 years of the latter's play as a 4-year school. I had hoped for a rivalry between UVU and UNC, but that wasn't to be.

BTW, you are right about schools like UNC having more women than men because of the large number of education and nursing programs. This is particularly true of former "Normal schools", again like UNC.

That is why Nevada set up Nevada State College a few years ago--education and nursing programs--so UNLV could become more selective and the state would not increase the number of vacancies in teaching and nursing. Now, it would be nice for Nevada State to start athletics.
