Is this a college football forum, or a high school restroom wall?

For some reason, North Dakota fans like to refer to our home venues by the first name of an old person. Our hockey arena is "The Ralph", the basketball arena is "The Betty", and the football arena is "The Al", although it is not named after a person named Al, just short for Alerus Center. Just keeping the theme of other two facilities I guess.

Your hockey arena is fantastic. Been there 4 times. Saw the Sioux play Alaska Anchorage twice, saw one game against the Gophers (EPIC), and saw them play St. Cloud State my freshman year. Awesome place.

Right now? THE FIELD, cause that's all it is!

But by 2013:

I hope it will become known as the New Mine Shaft. For some reason Halton Arena never inherited Belk Gym's nickname. More than likely it will get a nickname related more toward the actual name of the stadium. Either way, I'll be happy just to be there!

We prefer to call it "the Fox House" because Hens will never be in there...

Plus it sounds like a nickname, better than "Affirmative Action Field". :ohno:

Hell the high school athletic association's playoff theme is "The Road to the Dome"

It's iconic in Iowa
Stop being so full of yourself, if you ask anybody, and I mean anybody in SD where the "Dome" is they will refer you to that giant septic tank at usd known as the DakotaDome.

Well of course they know what "YOU" mean when "YOU" say the "Dome". But I'd bet when they are talking amongst other South Dakotans, they refer to the "Dome" as the DakotaDome.

For the sake of simplicity, I hearby name the EWU field "The Quefe"

Additionally, for those that have been to Savannah State, that dump should be renamed "Fish Fry Field". Funny folks down there, guess it comes from too many years of inhaling that Low Country Swamp Gas.

"The Red Carpet," "Big Red," and "The Red Zone" are the most popular names being bandied about amongst Eagle fans.

Although, I'm also a fan of "Devil's Playground."

Eventually the nickname will be a hybrid of whomever buys the naming rights. Philly's Lincoln Financial Field is know as the "Linc" or Chicago's US Cellular Field is called the "Cell". The naming rights may be too tempting to ignore. Maybe the "Ko", or the "Tam" or even the "Max". EWU could get quite the bidding war going for naming rights.

Mumford Stadium is called the Bluff by some because the campus sits on Scott's Bluff overlooking the Mississippi Bluff. A former coach (Marino Casem) used the motto : "it's tough on the bluff" and it kind of stuck. For a while some rival fans called it Mudford because our field was a horrible mud pit for a few years.

I actually don't mind the red field- I think Boise's crazy blue is even harder to watch games on than this would be. it could work for EWU.

Instead of the Eagle, I propose EWU generate extra revenue by placing this guy across the fifty:
