I think you are underestimating the problems that the turf and the facilities create. In recruiting, in playing, in adjusting to other surfaces, etc. There is no other surface like it in the Big Sky (fortunately). That can be an advantage when other teams come in there, but is a disadvantage when you have to play outside.
Next, I think the area can create some issues. Let's face it. South Eastern Idaho isn't a hotbed for an 18 year old kid. You have the rural nature of the area, the LDS influence, etc. These factors may make ISU a destination for some kids. It may be a deterrent to others.
Finally, they need to get rid of the culture of losing. It took Kramer a while to get rid of that in Bozeman. It will take your Coach (who I think is a good one) a while to do it also. I think you will have to go at least 4 years, to get the entire roster turned over. Just my
