Re: Money games
I prefer teams stay with in their division. I understand the money and the cupcake games from a financial stand point, but from a fan's perspective those games are rarely entertaining. If I had to choose between the two I would take the money game. I'm OK with loosing the money game, but it really doesn't feel good to watch your team get beat or almost loose to a cupcake (Damn you NDSU).
For money games vs FCS I would like to see games with the non-BCS confernces where my team would be more likely to be competitive. Watching your team get blown out by a top 25 BCS is not fun. BCS match ups are rarely competitive or entertaining.
I try to make a bet every year on and FCS vs BCS game with a good friend of mine that is a BCS snob. Some years I can't find a match up I would be willing to put money, but I do for the sake of tradition and loose my $20. I've probably broke even over the years, but there is usually only 1-2 match ups that would be considered competitive.

Watching your team play a competitive game with a top 25 BCS team is still pretty fun, even if you do end up losing by a point or two (or even a touchdown or two).

Re: Money games
Money games are important for all FCS schools. Problem is you can't explain that to some thickheaded fans who think they should be able to force a schedule onto another team by any means possible. NDSU has played money games since the move up and yes it's been important even considering that NDSU is averaging over 17k for attendance at home games. I just find this topic very interesting given at the moment we have a coat tail follower wanting to get on NDSU's schedule and this is one reason that NDSU is not agreeing to terms with those knuckleheads. I don't care if it's Appy, Montana or anyone else money games are important. Montana either plays a money game with an FBS or has OOC "HOME" games to make up for the lost revenue. it's worked for them and it's working for at least for the time being NDSU. I don't want to see an end to FCS teams playing those games against FBS.

Re: Money games
As stated multiple times already I am ok with 1 money game if the program needs it to stay in the black. I am just hoping the department doesn't use football in 2 money games to subsidize other sports more so than what already it is supporting.

you mean like some schools use their MBB program to support their football program?SDHornet wrote:As stated multiple times already I am ok with 1 money game if the program needs it to stay in the black.
