At 19,000, not the biggest, but certainly one of the nicer stadiums; the facility is top notch and the setting is probably top 5- especially at sunset.rueful wrote:i know its a homer pick, but so is everyone elses, and I have to say this is one of the nicest stadiums (also, its only 2 weeks old, so one of the newest)

I forgot about Paul Snow stadium now that it's been expanded.. maybe that's #5.
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Has it only been expanded in computer drawings?expandspanos wrote:I forgot about Paul Snow stadium now that it's been expanded.. maybe that's #5.
Re: best stadium???
Oh, I thought the clouds really looked like that in (insert whatever deep south state Jacksonville State is in - Mississippi is it?) and that full houses jammed the place to see an empty field, devoid of players, cameramen, cheerleaders, band, etc.89Hen wrote:Has it only been expanded in computer drawings?expandspanos wrote:I forgot about Paul Snow stadium now that it's been expanded.. maybe that's #5.

Re: best stadium???
the best thing about WaGriz, Bobcat stadium, Deleware, and Liberty's stadium is there is no track around the field. i think a stadium must be automatically disqualified from "best stadium" if it has a track. in WaGrz and bobcat stadium, you're almost literally on top of the field and players. pretty sweet.
kid brewer would be the best if they got rid of the track.

At UNI, at times you literally are on top of the players. There are benches under the over hang where players sit during games. It's crazy tight.big_meowski wrote:the best thing about WaGriz, Bobcat stadium, Deleware, and Liberty's stadium is there is no track around the field. i think a stadium must be automatically disqualified from "best stadium" if it has a track. in WaGrz and bobcat stadium, you're almost literally on top of the field and players. pretty sweet.

Oh and

Re: best stadium???
I would add our Bocat Stadium but will wait until the upgrades are completed. The track WILL GO, after the new T&F facility is completed (around Jan/Feb 2011). Can't lower the field to add more seats because of the water table (A river runs through SM and it's only about 2-3 blocks from where the stadium sits)
Course, the way things look, the NEZ will be finished about the time we start transitioning to FBS (fall 2012) and by then nobody on here will give a crap about TXST or its stadium.

Re: best stadium???
Can I nominate Ballard Stadium? It's the only FCS venue I've been to other than Georgetown, but I think it's awesome.
No bad site lines, no track, completely surrounded, loud, classic unique design, and very intimate. Some writer compared it to Wrigley Field, as you have people watching from the parking garage and recently, even the roof of gameday building:
