Does the Southland not play in front of hostile crowds? I've been on the sideline at WA-Griz and some of the shit being said at the coaches and players would make Capn Cat I just figured it was typical behavior everywhere the sidelines are close to the crowd.

If that's the reason for SFA's behaviour in kinda shows a lack of discipline on their part.

SFA got no more screwed that UNI did by not getting a first round bye - yet being the outright champion of the 2nd ranked GPI conference.

I do, however, think it's pretty bull crap that an outright conference from a conference that gets three teams in, get stuck in the opening round and the 4th place CAA team - or 2nd teams from much lesser conferences. But like our fans and players have said - you play the cards you have been dealt

Honestly, I think that if anyone got screwed, it was SFA. Yes, they play in a weak conference, but Villanova is far better than they are placed in the tournament. SFA will be running into a buzz saw, particularly with Szczur having two more weeks to get healthy. If he is even 80 percent, he'll be the best player they've seen all year.

For some reason, I think the team with the hardest road to the final 4 is the #1 seed Ap State. The presence of Villanova out there - if Szczur continues to get healthy, means they will have to again (like Richmond last year) beat the defending national champions to get to the semi finals; while WM and Delaware are playing teams from less competitive conferences than the CAA until the semi finals.

It was that as a reward for being #1, App State gets to face a Villanova team that won the national championship last year, has played a killer schedule the last two years and got into the playoffs after losing the best player in the country for most of the season - a player who is now back, and may be much healthier by game time. Terrible Bracket. To get to the finals, UD must face 2 other CAA teams. Nova has no CAA teams in their bracket. Nova has both Big Fluffy teams in their bracket. They might as well have gotten Weber State.
Obviously Nova bribed the Committee to get them an easy path to the finals

Last I checked, One had to beat good teams to win the NC regardless of brackets.

I don't think anyone has an easy way to the championship game. Every game is going to be hard fought and each team is playing to play for the next week. There is a reason why these 20 teams are playing for the championship. Anything can happen these next couple of weeks especially if a team gets hot and another team has one bad game. Atleast come January 7 FCS fans will have a true championship game with a true winner.
