JMU has had one of the toughest if not the toughest schedule in FCS. Had to play #1, #3, #5, #7, and #12 at the time they played. Plus they played the #21 ranked team Maine, but they were ranked then. Landers has faced tougher schedule than the guy from WSU. I wouldn't pick either one for the award, I would pick Edwards from App. St.

Those are some impressive FCS games but WSU's QB had over 300 yds passing, 2 TD's, 0 INTs against FBS BCS #7 Utah.

Utah is 10-0, only 1 other team was able to match what WSU's QB did, Oregon State. Not even TCU. Although, WYO QB was close, 50 yds passing, 0 TD's and 2 picks. lol

I think we can officially remove Cole Berquist and Mark Mariani from the list after last weekend's performance against a pathetic ISU team....

this years Payton Award cannot go to a wide reciever.......they will not give it to Cadet Andre Roberts because of the kind of year The Citadel has had.....he is the best.....he has the best numbers......it will not be a wide reciever or they would have to give the award to Cadet Roberts

Well how about this, Cameron Higgins had 233 passing yards against last year's BCS buster Hawaii, and 303 yards against this years BCS buster Utah, Im sorry, but he is only a sophomore and he has the best numbers in the FCS, 3550 passing yards, and he averages over 300 yards a game. He will win the Walter Payton Award.

Payton Award:

"It's always in the back of my mind," Higgins said. "But not really, I'm only a sophomore. I don't think I deserve it right now as far as what I feel I'm capable of doing. It's a good honor to be put in that spot. Whatever happens, happens, but right now all I'm thinking about is Eastern Washington and getting this win (Saturday)."

Sure... Ryan said Higgins "will win the Walter Payton Award"...I'll wager a UMass hat, in exchange for a Weber State hat...I pay if Higgins wins...Ryan pays if Higgins doesn't...
