Those west of the Mississippi are being quite realistic. An EWU victory is within the realm of possibility if the Eags bring their A game. They're also relying on the short week, reduced practices, and the potential of bad weather to adversely affect Nova. The only exception is one disgruntled UNC fan.

Those who at least LIVE east of the Great River think the game is already in the bag and should not even be played. That's the kind of thinking that gets you killed. Michigan, Ball State, and VA Tech can all attest to that in recent years.
They're also busting out the "last year" argument, which is amazing considering the number of them who have used the exact OPPOSITE argument in other threads in recent months. You can't have it both ways, guys.

We out west have seen what EWU can do, for better or for ill. I for one believe that they can pull this off. Does that mean it's a given? Certainly not. Unlike what ECB bandwagoners seem to think, that's why they actually play the game. Regardless of the result, it'll be an interesting game.

WTF? NDSUs defense kept the field short. NOVA has seen the tapes. They will try to do the same thing. Remember the MVFC took a huge step up when the invited NDSU. The BISON are 2-1 all time even with the mysterious calls.

exactly how do you connect the dots and blame EWU for bad officiating? Exactly what would you have the NCAA do to "clean it up?"

The debate on the terrible officiating is over. I dont think too many people are looking at that film and saying the calls were justified. What should they do?

Assuming there are no underlying “economic development” issues affecting the calls I would say train, review and make accountable. If bad calls are made the same thing that happens to people at work for making bad decisions should happen to officials.

Accountability is my keystone for cleaning it up.

NDSU pounded on the Eagles all day. TJ is out. Every point the Eagles scored depended on the officials. Without the astonishing calls the Eagles may have gone scoreless. Officiating at EWU has created the perception that the games were not decisive. I hope that isn't the case in this game too.

NOVA has the NDSU tapes. I expect NOVA to be stronger and faster. They sure looked like it against ASU. I expect they are going to put a lot of pressure on Bo. He makes bad decisions. I expect if the game is allowed to unfold without the officials controlling tempo and success its going to be a route.

Always amuses me how certain everyone is about a program that they have no experience competing with. Obviously the pundits were wrong again and EW was victorious. Not gonna say I knew that would be the case, I didn't. But I certainly wouldn't have tried to predict more than a good contest and that's what we got. I was rooting for EW, but greatly admire both the character and the abilities of the Villanova players. Very classy group with some true HEROS. Szczur is an amazing individual. I congratulate the Nova team on an amazing two seasons and look forward to an exciting championship game. Remember people, there is no magic that generates better teams on either coast. Great football players and teams are all around us. Often it just comes down to matchups on any given Saturday.

On another note, perhaps there is something to this red turf. Being a Cal Poly alumnus and fan, maybe I could talk them into installing a GREEN field!!! Doh! I guess it already is. Oh well, we'll just have to play good football lol.
