Distance learning has its critics but it generally isn't thrown the scam tag very often. But we openly admit it has been a financial windfall for the school. And as we now have 21 funded sports and a rapidly growing stadium I will gladly take pot shots about LU Online in exchange for our rapid advance in facilities.
As for Liberty and FCS Championship discussions, they have been mutually exclusive. I was just making an observation about how the title is viewed by the outside world when they see what would pass for mediocre high school stadium where I live as the home of the national champions.

I agree, it's totally unfair that we won the championship. And we should really worry about how the outside world views the thread titles while lurking on cs.com.Sly Fox wrote:Distance learning has its critics but it generally isn't thrown the scam tag very often. National Titles ... not Thread Titles ... or was that Sarcasm being exercised again.
And nobody stated your victory was unfair. I was just stating that it somewhat diminished the luster of the title. Then again, in the grand scheme of things the rest of the world has such little concern for the FCS that it really doesn't matter much.

The deal is, Sly, sans the red turf, most of the stadiums and attendance in the FCS are about the same as what you'll find at Roos. Sounds like you and Liberty have already outgrown the subdivision and should bypass any thoughts of invites to the CAA and seek membership in a conference and at a level where championships are decided by a beauty contest.
IOW, your smack = fail.

I was wondering about that. I thought perhaps distance learning was some cool thing I hadn't heard of yet so I best keep quiet until I learned more.

Didn't know the stadium determined the quality of the team. I mean, Minnesota has a great stadium, but they still blow dick.Sly Fox wrote:Wow, this offseason has months & months to go and we already have resorted to what high school-ish stadium looks better thread. Ugh.
And for the record, this one is a push. It only reminds me that if a school can win a national championship playing in that bandbox then a FCS Championship is losing a little of its luster.

The quality of the team should determine the quality of the stadium. But then again, if no fans show up to the games, there's no point of building a new stadiumThumper 76 wrote:Didn't know the stadium determined the quality of the team. Re: ALL THINGS CONSIDERED:which stadium is better?
Largest regular season victories by a I-AA team over the Griz since 1999:
Weber State: 17 points, 10/4/08
Sac State: 14 points, 9/24/11
EWU: 14 points, 10/15/05
SHSU: 12 points, 9/18/04
Yeah. I'll take 21 all day long. Griz haven't been beaten by more than 20 since the debacle in the playoffs against Western Illinois with what was arguably the worst Griz team in the past 20 years.

Hell no. I feel bad for the griz but not that bad. I was just remembering another prediction that BF made once that was part of an even bigger prediction.AZGrizFan wrote:You givin' 21 too?kalm wrote:

By my calculation, EWU should beat UM by between 10-17 points this year.

The score prediction seems pretty reasonable to me.
