You should instinctively known.

If he were a new Montana fan and I was hinting at stadium size or fan base or Red's or Friday lunches, would you have immediately given out my personal info?

Yes.

But that's beside the point...ODU still isn't on my radar as a 'team or fanbase to be concerned with' because they haven't done anything yet other than put alot of people into a stadium to watch their team beat some former high school 4th stringers. I'm learning though....no one takes Towson's spot in the cellar! :tothehand:

Is it me or does everybody expect ODU to instantly compete right away in the CAA? :?

It depends on what you mean by competing, for the league title, no. Will you be competitive in individual league games, yes. CAA teams will know that they played you and you will probably win a few games, but not have a winning CAA record the first year.

Good for VCU. If Old Dominion can win a couple CAA games this coming season, then there's no reason to think VCU couldn't in a couple years. VCU might actually be better off since they don't have to get their weiners all full of blood worrying about recruiting the overly celebrated '757'.

Clemson will be starting their overly celebrated 757 QB Tahj Boyd

Florida State, a preseason TOP 10 Team will be starting their overly celebrated 757 QB, E. J. Manuel

Alabama will be platooning 2 QB's this year, A.J. McCarron and their overly celebrated 757 QB Phillip Sims.

Of course Philly's overly celebrated and most famous 757 QB

Don't Hate! Celebrate! Delaware recruits here. It's a big cookie jar. VCU football will never happen. Not when the school is raising tuition to give over 700k to the basketball program. I would like to see it happen.

But, VCU's number 1 and Biggest Basketball fan, Chris Crowley, aka Pavarotti, will see to it that it never happens, lol

This is just a small sample, lol Haters will hate, lol Keep hating, the CAA, ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12 and even the PAC 12 will continue to recruit here. Oh and Delaware will have their hand in the 757 cookie jar too.

I added a picture of Michael Vick too. Enjoy!

And locals will over celebrate. There's talent all over the country, and frankly equally good or better high school football in a lot of other places. But I'll be sure to keep my pinata guy on speed dial for signing day, just in case.

Now this smack is more like it! I can't wait 'til we're up 49-0 on the daunted UD defense mid-way through the 3rd quarter. September 24 will signal the great arival of the CAA's new guard, and the beginning of the end of a once proud football institution. In 10 years when most UD fans are dead because of old age, us young ODU fans with our newer traditions and better facilities will look back at that day and say, "That was the day the FCS took notice." :coffee:

Also 757. :thumb:

You probably have to go back through the encyclopedia of UD football history to find the last time we were shut out at home. Probably circa the period where commuter students were taking horses and buggies to campus in Norfolk.

Never said we'd shut you out. Just said we'll be up 49-0 mid-way through the 3rd. UD will probably get a touchdown or two when we're up 66-0 and decide to put our scrubs in.

Man are you going to be in for a bellyflop on September 24. Pierce will get 175 yards and 3 touchdowns by the 3rd quarter I guarantee you. You newbies aren't playing frigging campbell in Delaware stadium on September 24th so you better learn some respect for your football elders son. :ohno: oh my blue hen brothers, TESTIFY!!!

This is all the times UD has been shut out since 1969

09-14-1996
Villanova (PA) 27
Delaware 0
Game AT Villanova

11-12-1983
Holy Cross (MA) 24
Delaware 0
Game AT UD

09-18-1982
Temple (PA) 22
Delaware 0
Game AT Temple

10-25-1975
Temple (PA)45
Delaware 0
Game AT UD

Oh yea....UD was D2 in 1975

On the flip side UD has shut 25 opponents out since 1975. Granted most of those games have been against D2, and the Rhode Islands/Towsons/etc... of the world. Still a hell of a ratio though.

As I said, I expect you to be a #1 or #2 seed in the playoffs. I hope you know that means I also expect you to win the CAA outright. It's really quite simple...you have big crowds which GUARANTEES success on the field (ala SWAC).

Delaware has shut Towson out once and Rhode Island twice. ASS

Eh, D2 in 1975 was the equivalent of FCS today (or I-AA a few years later) - just a different name. :coffee:

So the answer to the trivia question is: The last time UD was shutout at home was November of 1983. Probably somewhere in the vicinity of 180 or 190 home games ago.

Thanks for the research. Did you actually go back through the archives on the UD athletics site?
