Man, some of you people do not know what you're talking about when it comes to how seeding and FBS losses work

3. Montana vs (14. James Madison vs 18. Central Arkansas)
6. Northern Iowa vs 11 Lehigh
7. Montana State vs 10 Old Dominion
2. North Dakota State vs (15. Norfolk State vs 19. Stony Brook)
Looks weird. Are you trying to regionalize it? If that's the case, then UCA, Lehigh, and ODU are really going to take it in the shorts in their first games. I guess this is also why they don't bother seeding below 5. If this were to be a true seeding for 20 teams, 20 should be @ 15, 19@16, 18@17. At least, that seems like how it would go based off of expanding a 16-team field to 20. I just looked at a website that generates sample blank brackets, but it's REALLY weird. 13/20 vs. 1, 9 vs. 5, 16/17 vs. 4, and 12 vs. 8 on the left side. Not sure that computes for me....

I'm pretty amazed at how few of you have UNI getting a seed. I'd be very surprised if UNI does not get a seed. They may very well be in the top 3.

2 seed is what GSU deserves...why does Montana deserve a seed? You got blown up by a Tennesee team that couldnt beat its way out of an SEC east conference that looks more like the MEAC. Whats Sac States record gonna be? 5-6? 4-7? Give me a break. You beat an over rated #1 and think you should be at the front. Get behind Towson and STFU.

Yeah, it really sucks to beat the #1 TEAM IN THE COUNTRY. AWAY. Does not desrerve recognition at all ????? And the selection com. only has 10 hours to think about it. towson my arse. maybe if they show up more like us (16 out of the last 18 years) just maybe, and probably not, we would listen to your whiney ass.

I think the 5 seeds will be, and not in this order: GSU, Sam Houston, Montana, NDSU, and Towson. I think the teams that were Conference auto qualifiers will get the nod over UNI

The Bama game won't directly help GSU, but the good showing the SoCon had against the SEC today should raise the GPI of GSU and the SoCon. Also, between GSU, NDSU, UNI, the Griz, and Montana State, we are the only team that won our conference outright.

Being an auto qualifier should have nothing to do with the seeds. Having the auto-bid is just about getting a spot secured in the playoffs, while the seeding is about resumes.

UNI had a 7 win team last year that was the outright conf champ, and had the auto bid. Did they deserve a seed?

Think it is more like this, why should a 9-2 UNI, that finished second in the MVC, get a seed over a 11-0 Sam Houston, 9-2 GSU, 9-2 Towson, 9-2 Montana, or 10-1 NDSU that finished first in their conference?

Nope...they finished 1st, not second.

There is no second place in the MVFC this year

Just like MSU finished 1st in the Big Sky

They may be co-champs, but there is any easy way to determine first and second, it is called head-to-head result.

I kinda doubt that the committe will send UNH clear out to Bozo for a first round game.

UNH will be on a plane no matter what, so it is a possibility.

Why? Because UNI has a better resume than a few of those teams.

Uh, DJH, you might want to check the MVFC standings again. There are CO-champions this year, and UNI is one of them.

I'll take a stab at it. Think there's 8 teams you could discuss for the 5 seeds. (*Bad losses would be to anyone who finished with a losing record)

1.SHSU (Southland AQ)
vs Div I: 11-0
vs I-AA: 10-0
vs playoff: 1-0

2. NDSU (MVFC AQ):
vs Div I: 10-1 (include BCS win @ Minnesota)
vs I-AA: 9-1
vs playoff: 2-0
losses to non playoff: 1 (lost YSU)
bad losses: 0

3. Towson (CAA AQ):
vs Div 1: 9-2
vs I-AA: 9-1
vs playoff: 3-0
losses to non playoff: 1 (lost UD)
bad losses: 0

4. Ga Southern (So-Con AQ):
vs Div I: 8-2
vs I-AA: 8-1
vs playoff: 1-1 (lost @ ASU)
losses to non playoff: 0
bad losses:0

5. Montana (Big Sky AQ):
vs Div I: 8-2
vs I-AA: 8-1
vs playoff: 1-0
losses to non playoff: 1 (Sac State)
bad losses: 1 (4-7 Sac State)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. UNI
vs Div I: 9-2
vs I-AA: 9-1
vs playoff: 1-1 (lost @ NDSU)
losses to non playoff: 0
bad losses: 0

7. Montana State
vs Div I: 8-2
vs I-AA: 8-1
vs playoff: 0-1
losses to non playoff: 0
bad losses: 0

8. Lehigh:
vs Div I: 10-1
vs I-AA: 10-1
vs playoff: 0-1 (lost UNH)
losses to non playoff: 0
bad losses: 0

This is UNI's biggest problem....Best win Illinois State.

While that is a solid win, is it going to wow the committee enough to get them a seed?

Question:
Any chance of Eastern Washington getting in with a 6-5 record (winning 5 of last 6) and being the defending National Champs? Losses to Washington by 3, Montana by 3, South Dakota, Montana State, and Portland State. :thumb:
