Anybody hear somebody yell "Let's finish this fuckin' game!" in the background?
Re: JMU @ EKU Official Game Thread
looks like JMU needs to instruct their players how to properly buckle their chinstrap or something. every time I flip over, there is a gold dome rolling around on the field.

Looked like JMU was going to punt but EKU called timeout and JMU had a change of heart. What a huge timeout that turned out to be.Aho Old Guy wrote:C'mon, Mickey!

But I thought you were going to stop giving your opinions? JK, but it won't be a blowout. JMU never gets blown out, for some odd reason. Always lose close! Biggest blowout I can really think of was by 13 this year to UNH.CatMom wrote:IMHO - Next week should be a cake walk for NDSU

I am very nervous about next week but i'm very nervous about every big game so that really doesn't mean anything. Good luck Bison...hope it's a good game. I will be at the tailgate for any JMU fans looking to have a good discussion.

Re: JMU @ EKU Official Game Thread
JMU dominated statistically. If you'd just looked at the stats and were asked to guess the score, you would have thought JMU would have won by 2-3 TDs.

Re: JMU @ EKU Official Game Thread
If you watched the game it looked like JMU OL struggled, but was mainly 2 players.
JMU had 5 really good OL until the ODU game (game 8), when 3 starters went down. One returned the next week. JMU came into the game today with 3 really good OL:
-rJr LG #70, 2nd yr starter ,1st team All CAA & a pro prospect
-rSr OC #55, 3rd year starter, 2nd team All CAA
-rSo RT #74, 2nd yr starter who started every game at RT last season, was at RG the 1st 8 games, then got shifted back to RT after the injuries.
The problem today mainly was the 2 new starters, both undersized rFr who got inserted at LT and RG for the last 4 games. JMU gave up 4 sacks to EKU who isn't a good pass rushing team, one by #74 I think, and 3 of them by these 2 backups who really struggled:
-The backup LT #69 (6'3" 260 roster, 270 local paper) gave up one 1st half where he totally whiffed on the EKU DE, and also 1st half got beat on one pass play really badly where Thorpe had to step up to avoid the sack and managed to get back to the line of scrimmage.
-The backup RG #55 (6'3", 255 roster, 275 local paper) gave up 2 sacks, one a total whiff on a cut block attempt. In the 4th qtr he was replaced by #73, probably because he was getting worked over.
They both struggled some run blocking too.
I wouldn't be surprised if JMU has a new starter at RG for NDSU. JMU has another OL starter from last yr (6'5", 295) who missed all of Spring, summer and early fall with an off season knee injury. He's only been back practicing about 6 weeks- has dressed the last 4 games I think, and he started every game at RG last season. Maybe he or #73 (6'5", 290 rFr Syracuse transfer) who came in for those last couple of series will be inserted.

Who cares? Bottom line, it took a last second FG to beat the second place team from the fokking OVC. Doesn't bode well heading to Fargo.BDKJMU wrote:JMU dominated statistically. Re: JMU @ EKU Official Game Thread
JMU only gave up 213 yds to EKU. Gave up 143 rushing. 66 of that (and only one of 2 2nd half EKU 1st downs) was on that 66 yd EKU run play by Denham. The EKU OL is pretty good, with 3 of them getting 1st team All OVC, and Denham came in with 7? straight 100+ yard games and 1445 yards. Well, now make that 8 straight, and the 1st 100+ yard rusher JMU has given up all season.

Re: JMU @ EKU Official Game Thread
And an EKU FB from Front Royal, VA, about an hr from JMU, scores 2 TDs? Odd.
"....High School – First team all-state and all-district pick … rushed for more than 2,600 yards as a senior and 2,000 yards as a junior … recorded 37 touchdowns as a senior … left high school with Virginia’s single-season rushing and touchdown record...."
http://www.ekusports.com/roster.aspx?rp ... h=football
He was a 2 star out of HS as a senior, and apparently JMU at least looked at him:
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... oman-44933
The he went to Hargrave and was a no star:
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... 6498/print
I guess with a name like "Banjoman" you got to go to EKU (or ASU).
