Montana @ Sam Houston State
Re: Montana @ Sam Houston State
I think you have a hole in your shoe.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
Re: Montana @ Sam Houston State
Personally, I think this game is going to be a great chess match. Too bad that it won't look good on ESPN because of a lot of empty seats.

You must have an extra hole in your head; that's really the only way to explain your behavior on here.JBB wrote:I think you have a hole in your shoe.

For those out there that feel it necessary to bring up SHSU's schedule this season, let's take a look at Montana's season as well...I have never seen anything mentioned about Montana's close games this year?!? A couple examples: Montana barely pulls out 28-24 win over (4-7) Northern Arizona. Sacramento State (4-7) whips Montana 42-28 in Sacramento...For some reason these games never get brought up?

How about for the reason if you look at the Big Sky vs Southland standings, you can see that the Big Sky teams in places 3-7 are capable of beating anyone else in the conference. Looking at the Southland, I looks as if it was truly a 1- 8 scenario. Each team got progressively worse as they went down the line. Check it out. Not a one lower team beat a higher team during the season.Bearkat08 wrote:For those out there that feel it necessary to bring up SHSU's schedule this season, let's take a look at Montana's season as well...I have never seen anything mentioned about Montana's close games this year?!? win @ #1 Montana State
win vs #4 NIU
SHSU
win vs #7 Montana State
Griz have picked up their game 10x starting at the Weber State game. Completely diff team then that Sac State fiasco.

Definitely a wake up call, and eerily similar to what happened after we took a beating in Ogden in 2008...

The only read people had on them in non conference play against teams from other FCS auto bid leagues came from a 20-6 win over the last place team in the MVC (Western Illinois) and a 34-27 last minute win over Stony Brook. That's not real impressive.SHSU was able to drop 5-7 in coverage and still get pressure on the QB - I don;t think they will have as much success against the Griz, but anyone who thinks that SHSU isn't deserving of beinng there based on the conference needs to share whatever they are smoking.
Their other non conference wins were a 48-45 overtime win against 1-11 FBS New Mexico, a 22-7 win over first year program Texas San Antonio, and a 36-14 win over a team that was in the Southland last year and finished 6-6. This past Saturday was by FAR their most impressive non conference performance of the season. If you count Texas State as a FCS the average score for their games against non conference FCS teams prior to Montana State was 28-14 and only one of the non conference FCS teams they'd played finished with a winning record. That was Stony Brook. I think most regarded Stony Brook as a pretty easy playoff draw and itself finished 1-3 in non conference play during the regular season.
Until Saturday there was no reason to believe Sam Houston State was anything but over rated by virtue of being a top 4 seed, much less the 1 seed. Saturday changed that some. But it didn't change the fact that until then they really hadn't looked top 4 seed caliber in their non conference games.
There you are again John, the Voice of Reason.
I did pick the stupid Bobcats to beat SHSU, maybe out of home state pride, maybe believing the nonsense that they were spewing about it being a one game let down on Nov. 19th. But noooooo, those traitorous cats betrayed me and acted like they really don't like playing football after Thanksgiving.
I would guess that the Cats didn't take SHSU seriously, based on their lack of ability to figure out what was going on, especially in the second half. I fully believe that SHSU prepared harder and smarter than the Cats did, hence the ridiculous showing last Saturday.
However, that being said, I think there is no doubt that the Griz coaches will not take SHSU lightly. Should be a really good game.
Go Griz.

Go Griz.
I wanted another night game at Washington/Grizzly, and I'm pretty sure ESPN did too! I firmly believe that a semi-final game against the Bobcats, at home, on National TV, would absolutely demolish any past attendance records...despite the day of the week, or time of year!
I'm thinkin' there would have been close to 27k folks there, and a week later, 100k would be sayin' they were there!
Regardless, I'm just happy the Griz are still playing, and SHSU does look like the real deal! Should be a great game, and I'm lookin' forward to it!

Thankfully, the NC game will be played in an actual football facility (i.e., one that doesn't host job fairs and business conventions in the off-season like the fargodome). On that field, the Mighty Grizzlies of Montana will destroy the hapless and hilarious North Dakota Clown Circus!!

Or beating preseason #1 EWU, beating #1 MSU in their house 36-10, beating your own #15 C. AR 41-14, beating #2 UNI 48-10. Count on seeing the November/December Grizzlies on Friday. You can ask the UNI QB if SacSt beating Montana in September helped him.Bearkat08 wrote:For those out there that feel it necessary to bring up SHSU's schedule this season, let's take a look at Montana's season as well...I have never seen anything mentioned about Montana's close games this year?!? Sac State and Montana were both different teams early in the season. But it does get brought up all the time. Which team is better at playing in the rain?

Not to mention Oregon State finished Sagarin (even though it sucks) at #82 and New Mexico at #168. How exactly does a 4-7 middle of the pack Big Sky team beat a BCS conference team and not be considered decent?Silenoz wrote:Sac State and Montana were both different teams early in the season. This just in! I have it on VERY good authority that Robin Pflugrad is seriously considering sending the Montana Grizzlies men's basketball team down to Huntsville to dispatch SHSU in the semifinal game! Oh Mr. Plugrad, You are Marvelous! When you buy pants, do you need to search out a seamstress to "let them out" in order to accommodate your cajones? I'm over the moon right now!

Whew! You're not just whistling Dixie AZ! Thank goodness that I was able to make my way over to the fainting couch! I know that my emotions have a tendency to get the better of me, but I don't know what to do about it (kind've why I bought the fainting couch; this isn't the first time that I've thanked my stars for its sweet comforts)! It's just that I have such admiration and pride in That National Treasure, That Marvelous Collection of Physical Specimens, That Fearsome Bunch of Maroon-clad Gladiators, THE Montana Grizzlies!!AZGrizFan wrote:Easy there chick...gonna give yourself the vapors.Bear wrote:

I've given much thought to the question of how I might go about putting together the Ultimate Warrior, the Fiercest Frankenstein, the Most Marvelous Manifestation of Magnificence!? This UberMan might look something like this:
Brain: Robin Plugrad
Mustache: Sam Elliot
Right Arm: Jordan Johnson
Left Arm: Jimi Hendrix
Hands: Jabin Sambrano
Torso: Trumaine Johnson
Penis: Peter North/Robin Pflugrad (I'm told it's a coin flip by women who've been with both)
Balls: Robin Plugrad
Right Leg: Brody McKnight
Left Leg: Lance Armstrong
Hair: Sam Gratton
Yoda-style Mentor: Don Read
I'm feeling a bit woozy again...I'll be back as soon as I emerge from my swoon!
