This is THE BIG GAME Lakes. Even before NDSU told ESPN to take a hike this game is the game the folks were interested in.
The Jr. Bowl on Friday night should be a hoot! Montana is traveling down to Sam Houston State. Its a game Sam Houston should win. Should be a fun time. I bet those crazy Montana fans will be down there. What a thrill for those kids!

6 National Championships and counting. How many you got?

The FargoDome is one of the biggest engineering flops I've ever been in. There is room for at least another 5,000 seats, but your architect was an idiot. Sucks to be you. Plus, it's putt-putt golf turf on concrete...YAY! At least your boys have experience with carpet burned knees and faces.JBB wrote:It's going to be a real thrill for these GSU kids to play in the insanely popular Fabulous Fargo Dome! Yeah well GSU is better than Kent State. Only an idiot would claim otherwise.Gsu_Eagle_89 wrote:With respect sir, I know my SEC football and the Golden Flashes didn't even sniff the endzone till the second half of thier game with Bama and was held well under 100 total yards on offense. Yeah and this year's Bama team had issues showing up vs. inferior competition before laying the hammer down in the 2nd half. See: Kent State
Are you trying to convince yourself that Alabama took Ga. Southern as seriously as they take LSU or Florida? Because I seriously doubt they took GSU all that seriously until they realized they were in a game.

I was actually at the game at Georgia Southern when NDSU whacked the Eagles a few years ago.....and let me tell you, you stadium in Statesboro can't hold a candle to the Fargodome....especially the Fargodome in playoff mode. That being said, I found the post game hospitality in the bars after we beat you team to be second to none. The GSU fans were a CLASS ACT. We stayd around, got shitfaced.....and from what I recall, GSU fans paid for most the beer and would not let us hardly pay for a pitcher. I hope some of you make it to Fargo and receive the same hospitality up North.Gsu_Eagle_89 wrote:Yeah compared to the thrill of the Fargo Dome, Sanford Stadium and Bryant Deny are just tee ball fieldsJBB wrote:It's going to be a real thrill for these GSU kids to play in the insanely popular Fabulous Fargo Dome! As to this game......I won't make a pick. This will be one hard fought game. Tune in Saturday for FCS ball at its finest.

I was wondering something.....HOW IN H*** will GA Southern get to NDSU? I was wondering that when ODU was still in it. Is there an airport somewhere within 100 miles?
And no wonder all you Big Sky folks are crazy. Heck, you're probably snowed in as I type this.
Anyhow, NDSU has it's hands full, I can tell ya that. GSU not only runs the triple option, but their QB is very respectable throwing the ball.
GSU 35 NDSU 24
I see it as GSU and SHSU in the final. THAT my friends will be a game and a half.
Enjoy it, 'cause it's REAL championship football....not the stupid FBS crap.

The airport is about 50 feet away. Even someone from Delaware could more than likely find their way.

No offense to our fine southern friends, but it is hysterical reading some of you saying "pack your long-johns" or "brr" or any other "it's going to be freezing stuff" when ND is experiencing its first snow-less December that I can remember in quite some time.

While I doubt they took us as seriously as they did the tigers ,the Tide were fighting for the Championship lives with every game and all thier fans and Saban talked about was desperately needing style points to stay ahead of the other one loss teams (especially after Okie St lost.) Trust me they took that game very seriously.rkwittem wrote:Yeah well GSU is better than Kent State. Only an idiot would claim otherwise.Gsu_Eagle_89 wrote:

Having played football at Southern, and now living in Youngstown Ohio, I know for a fact that anything can happen. Y-town went in to ND this season and won, so let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater

I'm not saying it wasn't impressive rolling up those yards on Bama. I would just expect NDSU to be a little more...enthusiastic in their preparation for the triple option than Bama was.Gsu_Eagle_89 wrote:While I doubt they took us as seriously as they did the tigers ,the Tide were fighting for the Championship lives with every game and all thier fans and Saban talked about was desperately needing style points to stay ahead of the other one loss teams (especially after Okie St lost.)rkwittem wrote:

Fair enough, App St didn't need the athletes Bama has (although App St probally has some of the fastest recruits on the FCS circuit imo) but a solidly executed game plan and an consistent offense (a little luck on their part didn't hurt eitherrkwittem wrote:I'm not saying it wasn't impressive rolling up those yards on Bama. Re: Georgia Southern @ North Dakota State
I was amazed watching the Main v GS game how many times the DE gave Jaybo a free rein to do as he please. That DE needs to stick his helmet in his chest and plant him back first in the ground every play that he doesn't hand off the dive. At least that's how the TO used to be defended. Between the poor DE play and the awful Saftey play on the pitch, I wasn't too impressed with Main's attempt to stop GS. That being said, it should be a fun game on Saturday. I love the triple option.

Re: Georgia Southern @ North Dakota State
Totally agree. NDSU has been getting solid game plans nearly every week so far this year, and executed them most of the time, especially on defense. (Except for that hideous Youngstown game...Gsu_Eagle_89 wrote:Fair enough, App St didn't need the athletes Bama has (although App St probally has some of the fastest recruits on the FCS circuit imo) but a solidly executed game plan and an consistent offense (a little luck on their part didn't hurt eitherrkwittem wrote:

Should be a really interesting game, no doubt about it. I was trying to remember our last triple option game, and I believe we played Nicholls State in 2004 and they ran a lot of veer/option stuff. Clearly, GSU is on a totally different level, and the only common denominators between that NDSU team and this one are the setting and coaching staff.
It will be fun to watch Jaybo Shaw in person. Had a lot of fun with him on the NCAA game the year before he left Georgia Tech because Nesbitt kept getting hurt all the time in that game...
(Box score if you care...http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=242762447" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) Had to google it to remember what year.

Re: Georgia Southern @ North Dakota State
C'mon now that was 2006 and it was a 3 win year. Come to Paulson now. I've been to countless Falcons and SEC games and for what GSU lacks it seating compacity (only avg about 17k) it makes up for in its sheer ferocity. In fact we had to tone it down a tad after the NCAA put us on probation. (Though rushing Wofford's own field had alot to do with that.WYOBISONMAN wrote:I was actually at the game at Georgia Southern when NDSU whacked the Eagles a few years ago.....and let me tell you, you stadium in Statesboro can't hold a candle to the Fargodome....especially the Fargodome in playoff mode. I also wonder how much faster GSU is going to be on the carpet?
