OK. If you will be leaving, you had better make the playoffs this year and come visit Wa-Griz. I got the beers.
Nope, you boys will be coming to Norfolk this year. Oysters and Crabs on Smitty.

Richmond's AD said on the radio yesterday that ODU to CUSA could happen early next week...

Our Board has a scheduled Exec Committee meeting on Monday. But not sure if they changed that to a full board meeting to discuss/vote.

ODU wants to be eligible for the playoffs this coming season. It is possible that they can't do that if they announce a move to CUSA prior to June 1. This is the senior year of our first recruits and not playing for a championship would be a huge disappointment. So unless the NCAA will allow us to announce prior and still be playoff eligible, the announcement may not come until after June 1.

And the morons who want to make this move to a far flung mediocre basketball league and a far-flung mediocre FBS football league apparently have no problem telling their current football team "OK boys this is your last chance to win the National Championship. But there's no pressure on you. Have fun with it but we will heap scorn on you if you don't make it". Idiots!!

But DancingM, haven't you always wanted to see your team play in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl? Sounds a thrill a minute to me.

You have to win 6 games to even be eligible. How many bowl games has Western Kentucky played in?

WKU had a pretty darn good FCS program including a NC in 2002.

And their basketball team has been pretty good as well. NCAA Tournament records (WKU/ODU) ...
NCAA Tournament Appearances: 21/11
Final Fours: 1/0
Win-Loss: 18-22/3-11

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... team1/7903
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... team1/7030

The move up might not have worked out the way WKU hoped it would but it wasn't because they weren't a good FCS program.

Way to early to judge WKU. Considering their location, they have done very well as an athletic program. But I would be surprised if ODU doesn't have better football success in the future. Budget and market size means a lot.

Well, I did list the 5th place C-USA bowl tie-in, which is where ODU might be in about five years. Baby steps!
