Thats about the only thing Bozeman has going for itself, otherwise its just town full of yuppies and hicks.. :coffee:
Whats so special about missoula? The 15 days of sunshine a year or the 15% unemployment rate?

Just a town full of dirty hippies and bums

This. 15 years ago it birkenstocks, dreds, peace, and love. Now it's skinny jeans, zip-up hoodies, hurt feelings, and androgyny. Last time I was in Missoula It was like a GD Morrissey look-a-like convention.

Hipsters. :ohno:

Hippies, hipsters, shitty weather. And try mistakenly taking the Reserve Street exit on a Friday afternoon and making your way through traffic downtown. Missoula...it's the new Seattle. :ohno:

That is why you go to the bar and wait it out. Do I have to tell you everything?

Thanks for this poll and topic, this is actually something i've wondered about myself as well. It seems like the idea of a
'college town' is slightly different for everyone, with agreement on a few key points. I've never been to any of these cities (save portland's airport to change planes), but i'd very much like to make a trip

A few weeks ago I traveled from the Tetons to Seattle and had the opportunity to briefly visit Bozeman (Dinner and hotel stay), Missoula (Brunch) and Cheyney (see the menstruation field). I probably didn't get to see enough to give a full opinion, but from what I saw, Bozeman seemed like the better college town. Montana Ale Works was awesome and the night life seemed pretty good for a summer week night. Missoula was cool too, it seemed like every car had a kayak or bike strapped to the roof. Everyone seemed to be pretty active, but I didn't get a college town vibe, more of an "asheville of the northwest" vibe. Cheyney wasn't anything special. Here's a picture of my stop by WA-Griz:

Did you post an arrival time? If not you should have. I bet there could have been a Lunch in Missoula...and I bet the ICON/HOF'er would have signed autographs.

You must be thinking about MSU...almost double the rape count at UM :thumb:

NOT THIS AGAIN!!! Please don't compare the amount of rapes at one school VS. another. UM has better ladies in town.
