NoCo held on to beat Davis 27-21. The Bears have two, count 'em TWO, Big Sky wins.
ISU(o) won in Portland 31-13.
Cal Poly just scored to take a 28-24 lead over the Bobcats; mid-3Q

We have a bunch of guys out as well...and probably the top QB in the FCS. Congrats on your win. Re: Score Thread 11-1
You are so right Ranger....NAU is not use to winning....its a mindset and a tradition - EWU has it, so do the Griz.
The Jacks will get there. They have had consistent success and have been in the mix now for the past 3 years: lost share of Big Sky in last game and near miss for playoffs - playoffs but first round knock out - this year?
They lost to NoCo because their Offensive Coordinator had a blind spot for the QB that should have been 3rd string and was their starter. They righted the ship and now the right guys are running the show. They are still missing guys with injuries but so is everyone else.
Should be an interesting end to the season.
Lets Go Idaho State!

Crowd at the Delaware win over Rhode Island (2nd quarter). I was not there, so I don't claim any moral high ground. I'm hearing the Doors' The End playing in my head as I look at these pictures.

Re: Score Thread 11-1
What does that matter? Maybe you can inform us of a significant win pulled off by the Chants this year........ didn't think so. They are probably a top 15 team, top 2 or 3, laughable. I don't believe they could beat Bill and Mary or James Madison, but we will never know, they aren't MEAC skools.ASUG8 wrote:Who are you again?kendradad wrote:

Re: Score Thread 11-1
I'm not a CCU grad, but maybe the ASU part in my name threw you off I guess? Like it nor not the Chants are winning their games and if they're faking it the playoffs will flush them out. You pull for some chucktown school I'm gathering but you seem afraid to disclose which one.kendradad wrote:What does that matter? It was a conference win and as a VMI fan, you have no room to talk. You guys were the worst team in the Big South and it appears are continuing that fine tradition in the SoCon.kendradad wrote:Congratulations, another win against another nobody. Where did you get VMI from? That is almost as funny as your #2 ranking. I am a SoCal Trojan fan, but I enjoy watching FCS games as a hobby. I just find that they are more interesting, unpredictable, occasional FBS upset and I like the playoff system.Ibanez wrote:Like it or not, they are winning and are consistent. I do find it interesting that you don't have an argument regarding your very, very, weak schedule. You may well win your conference championship, but the playoffs will probably get real ugly after your first week bye. You guys did have a good team last year.............................. this year? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated. Good luck Saturday, but it should be another cakewalk for a top 15-20 team.

A Trojan fan? That's just as bad!!!
It was on ESPN last week that the Big South has the second best record this year, though o haven't verified that. I get the hate, it's bucking the trend of certain power conferences always dominating the polls. But times are changing.
We will see how CCU a plays in the post season.

Re: Score Thread 11-1
Yeah, we heard the same thing last year before kicking Bethune and Montana's butts, so nothing new. Is the schedule weak, humm...well, relatively speaking, I guess it is. But CCU is doing exactly what a team should be doing against weak competition...winning. Does playing a mediocre schedule make CCU mediocre? No. It's all relative. NDSU is heads and shoulders above all their competition, so an argument could be made that they have a 'weak' schedule because they aren't playing more mid level FBS teams. (And no, I'm not saying NDSU has a weak schedule, just trying to make a point). I guess my/our question for you is, why is someone who doesn't have a dog in this fight (you admit to not having a FCS 'team'), feel the need to criticize any team in the FCS?kendradad wrote:Where did you get VMI from? Just one quick question, do you think you are the second best FCS team in the country? Really?Beachdude wrote:Yeah, we heard the same thing last year before kicking Bethune and Montana's butts, so nothing new. Is the schedule weak, humm...well, relatively speaking, I guess it is. Re: Score Thread 11-1
No. Nor did I say they did. What I do know is that they are 24-1 over their past 25 games. They are 3-2 in the FCS Playoffs the past two years, and defeated a highly favored and ranked Montana at their home field. Personally, I would rank them 4th or 5th. Obviously, both the FCS coaches and Sport Writers feel that CCU is not 'overrated', at least by your derogatory meaning. I guess you are getting tons of coaching job offers seeing how you know the strengths of teams better than they do. But I do understand how the up and coming 'New Dog' on the block presents a threat to the 'Old Dogs' and thus gets diss'ed.="kendradad"

When two of the playoff wins were agains Bethune Cookman do they really count? Half kidding.
The Chanticleers win last year against Montana proves they belong, whether it's second, third , or fifth, they belong somewhere at the top of the FCS.

Re: Score Thread 11-1
I am not saying they shouldn't be rated, they definitely should be, somewhere between 10-20. I will have to apologize, I didn't know that last years wins counted for this years polls. If that were the case shouldn't Towson be ranked in the top 5? This is not totally unique to CCU. they just happen to be the school that seem to be ranked much higher than their on field performance this year. There are other schools that are ranked higher than teams that have beaten them on the field. Bryant is another school that is ranked much higher than they should be IMHO. But hey, everyone has an opinion. I may be wrong, may be right, either way, I am not going to lose any sleep over it. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.vutomcat wrote:Beachdude wrote:

Re: Score Thread 11-1
Cute. Nobody said that last years polls counted THIS year. But you're kidding yourself if you don't think past performance doesn't have an influence in poll position. But I digress...my point in that was to show that for over 2 years now Coastal has 'Taken Care of Business'. Are they an 'elite' team, no. That comes with continued, proven, success. But if Coastal's success continues at their current pace, then it will come. Bottom line, NDSU is a team unto itself, even if they aren't at last years level. Positions 2-5 are pretty much interchangeable, as are #6-10. #11-#20 are what they are. Anyway, this is my last word on this subject, as you obviously have a bias against CCU, as do many of the non-eastern conferences do, and nothing I say will matter. So good luck to everyone tomorrow as well, except you don't support a FCS team anyway, so for you it is moot.kendradad wrote:I am not saying they shouldn't be rated, they definitely should be, somewhere between 10-20.
