Hen fans: We stink and need to turn this around.
Montana fans: Hey, it was a good loss to EWU this year and look how we kept SUU and SacSt to less than their average yards!
GATW, I wish nothing but good things for UM, YSU, UNI, Furman... places where fans support their team. It's good for our brand of football. Hen fans were delusional too just a couple years ago.

1. Never said I was satisifed with beating Sac and SUU and winning one playoff game. We can and should do better.
2. My comments about where the programs are headed are based mostly on 93 and others' posts about the UD administration and AD deemphasizing football and alienating a large part of the fan base. This is most definitely not the case with UM.

Yeah keep trying(throw money at in Griz terminology) but it won't do any good. Montana is no longer the big kid on the block. No one is afraid of you and you play in rapidly deteriorating conference.

Keep throwing money at it? Do you realize how much money football ticket sales alone bring in for the ENTIRE athletic department?

Rapidly deteriorating?
Montana, UNI, and UD are all elite programs and relevant.
I appreciate the style in which you try to mitigate your situation with your effusive praise above and overstating your case.
Just adorable tiger.
Overstating, huh? Deftly introducing another dimension to the argument perhaps, but certainly not overstating.
If Montana spent as much on academics, especially reading comprehension and logic, as it does on football, it would be world class indeed.
You have my cell. Call anytime if you need someone to talk to. It's tough at first, but once you're comfortable with lower gridiron expectations and learn more about the primary role of higher education, you'll be fine.

That's it, let it out big boy, let it all out.
Sorry I missed your call, Ursack. Had Z on the line and he's in rough shape.
The line open...

Agreed. All programs have ups and downs. You have to look over the long term. To me all three of those are top 10 I-AA/FCS programs over the long term and it would take some VERY long dry spells to change that.
UNI may be the most frustrating football program ever for the fans involved but I've got all the respect in the world for that program.

Agree.
Montana rapidly entering the UNI Zone though. The main difference is Montana spends millions and millions to be mediocre.
No one here wants the Griz to succeed more than me. It ain't happening. You lose your coach every other year, your fan base is delusional and several teams in your conference have passed or are passing you. Shit, the last place team in the MV almost beat you.
If not for the fact the Griz are the only team who inexplicably get every break in the playoffs (almost all home games, higher than deserved seeding, births into the championship with easy ass padded schedules) they'd be even more irrelevant.

Those days and those breaks are over.
OK, Nostradumbass. You're just butt-hurt because your guaranteed conference championship every year just got bushwacked by the addition of NDSU a couple years ago.

Perhaps a little, Z, but it's over. We entertain no delusion of success anymore. Most of us ost faith after the Richmond debacle. So, your name calling and pathetic attempt to stick us falls flat, like your dick.
NDSU reminds me of the Griz during its heyday - flush with cash, power to manipulate selection committee, arrogant but nowhere near that of UM. Delusion will set in as the fans place unrealistic expectations on the program and they begin losing coaches and recruits as frequently as Muhamad Ali loses his train of thought. Enter mediocrity. Then it's Illinois State's or MSU's turn.
Thus is the cycle of life in minor league college football.

Say, Z, you got any room at your place for Julian and I for the holidays? He's very pregnant and Michelle Bachman has issued a decree calling for the death of all male liberal children in Minneapolis. We're poor and in need. Help us bring our miracle child into the world - truly a son of man. We have no place to lay our heads, even your kennels out back where you keep your Rottweilers would be fine. Just lay out some straw and turn over a table, we'll take care of the rest.
Please pm me your decision, but we do gotta wrap the whole birth thing by tomorrow.
UNI's not irrelevant if you're associated with a FBS program that puts them on the schedule. I think North Dakota State is the only FCS program that would worry me more at this point than UNI would.
Also I guarantee you UNI's not irrelevant to North Dakota State. Those associated with North Dakota State football know they're going to have their hands full when they play the Panthers. They know they were lucky to beat UNI at home last year…pretty much came down to UNI having them stopped on what turned out to be their game winning drive but a UNI defensive lineman getting called for a personal foul to keep the drive alive. And we all know what happened this year.
I'd bet you that if North Dakota State was in a playoff game needing to advance the FCS team they'd LEAST like to see across the line of scrimmage from them would be UNI.
