What a bunch of dicks!
Why are you hoping that schadenfreude continues to flow like whine from EWU fans in regards to their hopes that Adams' dream to play in a real stadium gets crushed?

Can't you let the guy live his life in pursuit of happiness...or will you simply chain him down and keep him trapped in your small world?

Man, EWU fans are like those people who kidnap innocent kids and then lock them in the basement. :ohno:

Yep. I'd say he's gone. Highly unethical situation. NCAA needs to address this rule.
Would Russell Wilson be in Seattle without this rule?
That ended up benefiting them....that's different.

What is worrisome is if the one-year sitout for regular transfers to FBS is eliminated - you will see this as a regular occurance

I am about 99.693% that he will not have to sit out. Once a player graduates, he can transfer and not sit out a year. I know of at least one player that did it from FBS to FBS last year. Jordan Leslie played for BYU this year after graduating ealy from UTEP with a degree in electrical engineering. I say good for them if they can get a degree early like that. I don't have a problem with it at all when they apply themselves like this. They should be rewarded.

DBack isn't talking about after players have graduated - he's talking about the vast majority of FBS transfers that come to FCS because if they transferred to another FBS school they are currently required to sit & use a year of eligibility up. It's been rumored for maybe the last 24 months or so that the NCAA would eliminate the year needed to sit out & kids could essentially transfer to other FBS schools and be immediately eligible.

Such a move would essentially halve the amount of FBS transfers dropping down to FCS each year.

I hadn't heard they were looking to eliminate that rule. They do need to leave that one in place. :thumb:

I'm sure every kid 18-22 would jump at the opportunity if they were guaranteed a starting job,
I am hoping that there are at least some 18-22 year old kids who would not do this. "This" is abandoning the school that had faith in you as well as the guys who have been your team mates so you can play on a bigger stage and feed your own ego. If there are not some 18-22 year old kids who would not do this, we are in trouble.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

I'm sure every kid offered the starting job would too, but how many times is that going to happen? It's certainly not happening here. It just seems wrong that Oregon can offer a kid still on scholarship from another school, not to mention a school they will be playing this upcoming season. The same could happen with Cooper Kupp next year. Pac-12 schools passed over Adams the first go around and Eastern took a chance on him. That should be their loss.

If a kid is good enough to play in the NFL he will get his chance from either level.

Not a good thing for FCS at all.

Yet you want to make it Adam's loss.

It could equally be his loss when he only gets Fall Camp to learn the system and beat out 4 others and ends up ridding the bench next season.

Yes, it could. But isn't that his decision to make...and not yours, EWU's, or anyone else's decision? :suspicious:

Dude graduates early...everyone should celebrate. But no...a whole bunch of people are trying to say he owes EWU something, as if he is some sort of EWU property. Indentured servitude must still be alive and well in the Pacific Northwest. :ohno:

And why can't Adams pick up Oregon's playbook over the summer? Heck, EWU was easy enough for him to graduate in 3 years...he could probably spend his spring watching reruns of Oregon games in between his studies in order to learn the Duck's system.

BTW...Adams could also have lost his position if some hot shot freshman came into EWU and beat him out...unless your coach guarantees kids positions. 8-)

No matter how you try to add it up...Adams can, and should, go where he wants to go. Oregon will give him more money for school, more opportunity for exposure, and he won't be playing on a tampon. That's got win-win written all over it...in blood!

No, that was Andy Larson. He kicked the game-winner in the title game two years later.

And he didn't miss a late FG against Delaware, he missed an XP that put Montana up 48-42 instead of 49-42.

edit - Raul Allegre played for the Griz in the late '70s.

Technically that isn't the case as FCS schools don't offer 4-year scholarships, meaning he's not committed by legalese to EWU for the fall.

Why?

Despite the beating I'm taking here, I'd feel the same way if it was Kyle Emmanuel being courted by Nebraska, or Wagenmann by Boise State, or Zenner by Iowa.

This isn't about Cluck U's love of civil rights and kicking me in the nut. There are many restrictions placed on athletes both professional and collegiate. There are rules in place to protect institutions, players, and fair competition. Unrestricted free agency between FBS and FCS is not a good thing.

If he goes, I truly hope he wins the starting job and it raises his draft stock but the whole think stinks to high heaven.

Why? Pretty simple. He's got a chance to better his life a fair amount by taking a small chance here but you are saying this shouldn't happen because it doesn't suit what you or other fans want for your program.

It is a very selfish perspective from what I am getting out of the conversation. That is what surprised me. It's an unusual situation he's found himself in and making the absolute most of any situation is what I'm sure we'd all do as well if given that opportunity.

Then he should have walked on at Oregon or should declare now.

It really isn't about the bolded although I understand that's an easy shot to take.

If he was declared the starter by Oregon, that might change my mind but that's still pie in sky. It's like the FBS marginal running back or lineman recruited by Washington and EWU who thinks he has NFL talent and chooses UW but never sees the field because there's 6 other equally talented RB's on the roster.

It is in fact his decision to make and I won't begrudge him the choice, but as I mentioned, unrestricted free agency from FCS to FBS is not a good thing.

Do you support the transfer up rule as it applies to non-graduates?
