That really sucks. Last year we had the championship game screwed up by South Dakota State's QB getting knocked out of the game on the first series. Now we have Montana State's emerging star QB injured on the first series. I hope he's able to come back but it's probably already certain that he's not going to be 100%. What a complete drag.

It's looking like it didn't make a difference in the W/L outcome because Montana State's defense is so defenseless. But I would like to have seen the game with Montana State's starting QB in; especially because he has performed so well and been so much of a dual threat. The guy has game breaking speed and he can also throw the ball well.

Really sucks that this has happened in two championship games in a row now. Last year I think it likely made a difference in who won the game though. This year I think likely not. VERY likely not given the way North Dakota State's offense is pushing the Bobcat defense around. I expected the Montana State defense to do better.

Maybe in terms of a repeat champion. But in terms of blowouts? Can we really say that this is "bad" for FCS when it's happening in EVERY freaking Division?

FBS Semis: 1 Alabama d. 4 Cincinnati 27-6; 3 Georgia d. 2 Michigan 34-11
FBS Finals: 3 Georgia vs. 1 Alabama (To be sure, this is bad, as it's all SEC. FBS could do better with an expanded playoff that doesn't exclude based on a pre-determined "you suck because your conference sucks, and your conference sucks because we SAY it sucks.")
FCS Finals: NDSU d. MSU 38-10 (Sure, NDSU has been in the title picture for the last decade, but it's been awhile for MSU.)
D-II Finals: 1 Ferris State d. 2 Valdosta State 58-17 (First Championship for Ferris State.)
D-III Finals: 1 Mary Hardin-Baylor d. 1 North Central (IL) 57-24 (Admitedly, MHB is ALWAYS in the mix, but NCIL is relatively new. The other "usual players" Mount Union and WI-Whitewater lost in the National Semis and Muhlenberg lost the round before.)
NAIA Finals: Morningside (IA) d. Grand View (IA) 38-28 (Not a bad game, but featuring two recent powerhouses. Others making it far in the tournament were also recent powerhouses.)

Quit watching at the half. The de facto NC game was 3 weeks ago. Blame that on the committee. They f’d up like they did in 2016 with the de facto NC game in the semis.

And that turf was a bad as 2004 JMU/Montana in Chatty, which was the worst ever.

When I saw Tommy limp off after the first drive, you knew it could get ugly. He was on the sideline trying to walk it off, most of the half, but he was still limping. Bobcats are a recruiting class or two away from being really good.
