ODU Making Strong Attendance Showing

FYI: The Old Dominion Univ. return to football on September 5 (2 weeks from today) which was previously announced as being on TV in Virginia, is also being broadcast to D.C., North Carolina, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. While the ODU team is young and the program is new, the excitement of a sold out stadium (20,000) and the atmosphere of a first game might be worth checking out.

We need to find a savvy guy from ODU to put the game up on channelsurfing.net cuz I would love to check it out.

Yea it certainly is a cupcake schedule and in some cases we are the cupcake. Only two weeks before the first game and people around here are excited. Thanks to all you guys who have written encouraging posts on this board. I hope ODU fans can add something to these discussions.

It is very cool being a fan of a team that hasn't played a game in 70 years, but already has a sold out stadium for the entire season and is going to have its very first game broadcast on cable tv throughout the mid-atlantic, even though we are playing a D-2 team.

Should be alot of fun. Expectations are reasonable from most though, no one is hoping for greatness or even a winning season for at least the first several years. 1 win would be nice....anything on top of that is gravy. I do think we have some quality athletes from the 757 area who could make an impact fairly soon and have us competitive within several years.
