I have provided you the lopsided statistics from the game, quotes from your coach who says UNI is better than Kansas, and quotes from your own players who admit that they were overwhelmed by UNI.

Them boys got whipped. :coffee:
I will admit that you have been very good a bragging up anything supporting your point, but you also provided me with excuses on why there were so many fumbles, excuses on why there were so many missed FGs and you have failed to provide and explanation about the obvious conclusions fans are bound to come to about the 2010 UNI team once they see the playoff record. Certainly they became irrelevant as the BISON charged ahead. After providing you with all of that and more you are still trying to make excuses why the win was not circumstantial.
I haven't made a single excuse. I have provided you with the facts. And the facts are that despite multiple turnovers and missed FGs, the bizon were never in the game. They were not a good enough team to capitalize on mistakes.

You, on the other hand, have provided excuse after excuse about every bizon loss last season. Own it like a man, loser.

Again, I am seeing circumstances and excuses being used improperly. Maybe by using examples I can get it across?
CIRCUMSTANCES:

1) Weather, its a fact
2) Officiating, its a matter of record
3) Incidental circumstances that can reasonably be expected to influence the outcome in some way ie. big BCS win on the road the week before
EXCUSES:

1) The score would have been higher except WE FUMBLED too many times. Purely speculative concerning the scoring and fails to acknowledge opponents influence on the play
2) We missed 2 FGs. Again fails to acknowledge to opponents play and is down right unsportsmanlike.
3) We had too many underclassman on the field. Get better underclassman and stop with the excuses already.
It amazes me how fans from a school that squeaked by NDSU in a regular season victory, ends the season on 2 losses and goes nowhere in the playoffs can insist their team is better than the BISON, a team that really made an impression nationally with a fabulous "Cinderella" playoff run and is obviously a top contender, if not the favorite, to win the MVFC this season.

There is nothing wrong with a win being labeled circumstantial, especially when it was. These guys are out of control on this issue. We are also getting a little far afield considering the thread topic.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

What amazes me (not really, considering the source) is the one can use two arbitrary games, which were uncommon opponents between UNI and NDSU, to judge who was the better between the two. When a) NDSU and UNI played each other, and b) NDSU and UNI played a round robin schedule throughout the entire conference season between common opponents.

UNI clearly demonstrated that they were the better team by a) kicking NDSU's ass head to head (three years running), and b) winning the conference title (8 common opponent games for NDSU and UNI), and having a better record (by two games) than NDSU did against those common opponents.

You're probably correct on both points DJH. The thing is its no big deal and certainly not worth getting angry over. Nobodys saying UNI wasnt a good team. Obviously they were. But they met their match and were out just like that. Considering everything that happened that was the clincher for the circumstantial win moniker.

Now NDSU gets a shot at a team that gave Lehigh all they could handle. Yes, the same Lehigh that beat UNI the following weak in Cedar Falls. To me thats one of the most interesting side stories to this game and something the successful prognosticator cant afford to overlook. It also promises the game could be an exiting matchuup. Its got all the trappings of a dandy.

Its difficult to imagine what it would take for the Leopards to get any notice in the top 25 considering Robert Morris didnt receive a single vote. Certainly Robert Morris could go as high as 15. The Leopards are a worthy 25-20 type team. If Im right they will play that way.

Did you at all respond to the quotes from the BISON football team about UNI? You are basically the only BISON "fan" that thinks they way you do. Does Coach Bohl have no idea what he is talking about on how tough a team really is?

JBB AKA the "expert prognosticator" before the UNI game last year.
JBB wrote:Phones are silent. I haven't had reports yet this morning from the field. Im hoping to get some information later but the intensity and excitement of the Kansas game are gone. In its place is a workman like determination. The quiet knowledge that today is just another day at work. A slip up could mean disaster. Today is the day. There is no other.

This is not a day when a football team, flying high from a big win, takes the field and expects the opponent to lie down for them. This BISON team will take the field knowing they are in for a battle. 60 minutes of intense football with winner take all.

NDSU comes out of the Kansas victory healthy. Everyone is 100%.

The defensive line and linebackers are going to shut down the UNI running game. You may not think highly of Kansas but they had a Big 12 offensive line that was very experienced and in tact from last season. Expect the BISON to be disrupting the UNI backfield all day. There will be numerous QB sacks, hurries and hopefully mistakes from a new, untested UNI QB.

NDSU has a very good offensive line. Look for the NDSU running game to really break out. This is the factor the UNI fans are overlooking. That's good. Maybe they are reflecting the attitude of their coaches and team, just like the determined, workmanlike NDSU fans are reflecting the attitude of their coaches and team.

The running game should open it up for Jose Mohler and our receiving corps. NDSU lost a TD last week because our WRs collided in the end zone on a perfectly thrown ball. I think they will correct that this week and we will some some production from the passing game.

UNI is untested. Full of Question marks. The NDSU BISON will enter the UNI Dome an experienced, determined football team with their eyes on one thing and one thing only, the next play. Do that well, time after time, and eventually the game is yours.

NDSU wins this one. Many think it will be close. Ill say NDSU by 11 with rout potential all BISON.

When I mentioned weather as a factor in the EWU/NDSU game, you claimed that was an excuse. Now it's a circumstance?

The ndsu played a FBS team the week before holds no bearing. Completely different games and weeks. That's an excuse. Stop with the excuses Jabber. The prairie cows lost to UNI, AGAIN. And they will lose again this year. :coffee:

That is interesting. By that exact same logic, Lehigh > NDSU.
Up to a point you are correct, but Lehigh was eliminated in the next round and NDSU advanced so Lehigh remains superior to UNI, Lafayette is equal to a slight push and NDSU is the best of the bunch.

In that case Murray State is 9 million times better than NDSU for putting up 800+ yards on Missouri State

I feel like I've already pointed that out several times now

This is totally out of hand. You guys are spinning in circles. Fact is the win was ruled "circumstantial, not decisive". Its the nature of the game. This type of "win grading" is important to the fully informed prognosticator. But the main point is get over it already. It was circumstantial.

What is important is the big game that is drawing ever nearer. This is a good opener for The BISON and will answer some questions.

What JBB really said:

I'm not going to answer any more questions because everyone is calling me out for being a hypocritical excuse maker. UNI beat us so lets just all stop talking about it. Let's talk about our game against Laffytaffy and talk it up as a big game even though it's not and the prairie cows should win easily.

When you have a firm and mature handle on "win grading" get back to me. IN the meantime just remember, for the lay person a "circumstantial win" is still a win. For the prognosticator its a way isolate and grade the effectiveness of the winning team.

45 days until the Lafayette kickoff! Here are the NDSU BISON All-Conference players in the MVFC according to Phil Steele:

1st Team:

RB – DJ McNorton

WR – Warren Holloway

OL – Paul Cornick

DL – Coulter Boyer

DB – Marcus Williams

K – Ryan Jastram

PR – Ryan Smith

2nd team:

OL – Billy Turner

DB – Daniel Eaves

What amazes me (not really, considering the source) is the one can use two arbitrary games, which were uncommon opponents between UNI and NDSU, to judge who was the better between the two. When a) NDSU and UNI played each other, and b) NDSU and UNI played a round robin schedule throughout the entire conference season between common opponents.

Thank you Gil, I've worked hard for my success. As you can see a lot of these foreign posters are kind of stuped in the head but they are sincere, honest, strong fellows on the straight and narrow.

As for my work here I have given a lot. Im proud my success is recognized for what it is. I have posted the most honest, insightful, and knowledgeable comments on a subject dear to the hearts of us all.

NDSU and BISON football are certainly at the top of the page when it comes to FCS football. Im sure its a great honor for everyone to have the BISON in the FCS.
