Unfortunately the game will never rise to the level of a great game because it was spoiled by terrible, if not intentionally, poor officiating. Sorry, but this one is locked away as a dud. Whenever its mentioned the issue will always come up and the question will always remain: Could The Eagles have won without the series of blown calls? EWU gets no respect and the NCAA has a problem. A faux win will turn out to be a sour apple for them and thats unfortunate. A good win would have given them respect and momentum. They only have the officials to blame for the degradation of their credibility as a legitimate contender.

I expect with the stuffing knocked out of them and their pride taken away Nova is going to have a banner day pounding on the hapless Eagles unless of course the 12th man is there again.

I see what JBB is talking about with the refs being against them.

NDSU was penalized 4 times for 50 yds.

One of those was a smart play by the def. back to save a TD where he was penalized 15 yds. so the other three for 35 yds. are in play and questionable calls.

Here are the other calls that were pure bullshit.
NDSU:
PENALTY NDSU roughing the kicker (Heagle,Colten) 5 yards to the EWU39,
PENALTY NDSU illegal formation declined.
PENALTY NDSU personal foul (Richard,Austin) 15 yards to the EWU29.


There weren't any big holding calls against either team but it's widely known that NDSU doesn't do that and EWU does.

This penalty really stands out. There were 2 refs that simultaneously threw their flags. That demonstrates it was clearly an orchestrated conspiracy by the refs trying to ensure an EWU win. How else could have they got the timing down so perfectly to throw the flags at the same time. It had to have been practiced before hand.

At any rate, this is in the past. Now that BV plans on formulating a stern letter to the UN Im happy. The best to EWU in the rest of the tournament. It was the best game of the entire tournament so far.



I take back what I said about Jones, heat of the moment etc. He is a very good running back. I saw at least 4 outstanding players on the field for the Eagles. I agree with Phil Hansen and his assessment of the situations and players as they arose. He called a tremendous game for the NDSU BISON broadcast team.

They need to not have instant replay if they aren't gonna use it. The 3rd down pass that bounced of the turf and the last call known as the fumble were terrible.

With that being said, officals don't lose games for teams. NDSU had EWU exactly where we wanted them. They had to go 90 yards in 2 minutes with a below average passing game. EWU went 4 for 11 passing and made the most out of the 4 receptions. It reminded me of the Patriots vs Giants in the super bowl. The bobbling catch and whatnot. NDSU should have blitzed more on the last drive. EWU's QB was terrible and really bad under pressure. We had 2 minutes to stop them and we didn't. It wasn't meant to be. EWU has a good squad and you can't let them hang around or its gonna bit you in the ass.

The personal foul on NDSU's olineman was a stupid penalty to commit. The olineman put us out of field goal range and the personal foul had no effect on the play. What was he thinking. We would've had a decent shot at a short field goal (who knows, it prob would've gotten blocked).

Replay was used perfectly in both those situations. The first was called a CATCH on the field, and replays were inconclusive. The second was called a FUMBLE on the field, and replays were inconclusive.

That's how the system works. You must have IRREFUTABLE evidence that the call should be overturned.

Well you see, there were 3 shooters involved, 1 in the building, 1 behind the grassy knoll and 1 hiding in the storm drain. And the moon landing took place in a remote studio in the desert, they filmed the "one step for man sequence" and played it back at 30 frames/second instead of the usual 60 fps to give the appearance of less gravity than on earth. Congratulations to the Eagles. NDSU had it's chances, I'm PO'd that our FVCKING coach didn't let our players determine it on that 4th and 2 at the end of the 4th QTR. Get a first down there and the game is over. The only other thing I will say is if the ref's are that incompetent that they can't get replay calls right then they shouldn't even waste the time using it. Wasn't only our game either they F'd it up. I watchd the Nova game and on one play where the NOVA QB was down and well short of the goal line they gave him a TD. Clearly it wasn't a TD and yet they F'd that up. Fortunately it didn't have a bearing on the outcome of that game. The truly sad thing is officiating shouldn't play a role in the outcome of any playoff game or any game for that matter. Clearly in the NDSU-EWU game it did and that is a shame. The players should be the ones to determine it on the field. Saturday that was taken away from both teams in Cheney by an incompetent crew and the players, coaches and fans are the ones who are cheated. Best of luck to all the teams remaining. Here's to next year for us we will be back
