NAU 38-45 Portland St.Viks win a shootout… if a run-heavy game can be considered a shootout.

NoCo 20-30 Idaho St.Battle for the basement—the Bengals at least seem to have an identity.

Sac State 38-31 Weber — Bryan Hilliard should have a good day.

EWU 21-31 MontanaThe Eags have too many problems to be fixed in one road week.

Minot 13-55 Montana St.Bobcats take revenge on the state of North Dakota.

JALMOND wrote:So far, so bad. After the first two weeks, what should be easy has got me at 13-4 for the year. How easy? So far the only games played in the conference that have been won by the road team is two (Sac State at Oregon State and Lindenwood at UNC). It is rather tough to win on the road, but this is bordering on insanity. Here are my predictions for this weeks Big Sky conference games. Once again, hoping for perfection.

EWU at UM---The Eagles close call against Washington was offset by their inept performance last week at South Dakota. The Grizzlies came back from their loss at Tennessee to earn a win at home last week against Cal Poly. The Eagles lack of a running game (so far) hurt them in South Dakota. Will it hurt them here?...UM 21, EWU 17.

Minot State at MSU---The Bobcats started off playing the Pac-12 and then the FCS so it is only natural to step down a level. However, playing the likes of Minot State, a transitional DII program from NAIA, may be stepping down quite a level. Minot State has had a hard time scoring against DII competition. What will happen when they enter the Bobcat's den?...MSU 58, Minot State 7.

NAU at PSU---Questions all over this matchup. The Lumberjacks got blown out at Arizona, then blew out their DII opponent. The Vikings have played once and demolished NAIA's Southern Oregon. This game will be a good indication of which one is the better team, but it makes it hard to pick. Usually I come close on the score---at halftime...PSU 31, NAU 28.

UNC at ISU---The Bengals are looking like an FCS team, in that they were blown away by the FBS and then steamrolled the DII. The Bears are looking not at all like an FCS team with a home loss to NAIA's Lindenwood the first week. What is interesting is that one of these teams will be 1-0 in conference at the end of the day. Who will it be for these basement dwellers?...ISU 24, UNC 10.

Sac State at WSU---All the love that the Hornets had the first week with their win over the Pac-12's Oregon State went away with their road loss at Southern Utah. To be a good team in this conference, you need to have consistency. The Wildcats have played 2 FBS teams and really have played good football in 6 out of 8 quarters (the second half of the Utah State game was forgettable). This is interesting...WSU 28, Sac State 27.

I say again this week, take the home team. :thumb:
Perfection as in all picks right. The scores were a bit off although I missed the PSU/NAU game by one point. This week puts me at 18-4 for the year so far.

I think all these games, minus the MSU/Minot game should be fairly close. But I'm staying with the trend through two weeks (conference teams are 1-10 on the road), and picking the home teams.
Nailed it (except for the "all these games should be fairly close" prediction).

I expected Weber to beat Sacramento and to go to a life time 9-0 over Sacramento in Ogden. But, I didn't expect the 49 points put up by Weber.

I want to go with Weber State, but I think they will have a tough time stopping Sacramento's running back.

As usual, you guys are all underestimating Weber State.

To a certain extent, WSU brings this perception upon itself by scheduling two FBS money games every year. Strength of schedule counts in more ways than one. Performance against FBS opponents tells us something about the mettle of the team, and in the end that high-level schedule will count towards team confidence and the ability of the players to make big plays in big games. Weber beat a mediocre Wyoming on the stat sheet and lost on the scoreboard only in the last few seconds. Weber was dominated by a better-than-expected Utah State team that gave Auburn all they could possibly handle on the road in Alabama.

The 49-17 Weber blowout of Sac State in Ogden this past weekend was closer than the score might indicate, but it showed that the Wildcat defense is credible against top notch FCS competition, and that the offense is the real deal.

The Weber D held Hilliard to 73 yards on 19 carries, and intercepted Fleming three times.

If anyone had bothered to look look at the Weber stats against Wyoming, it has been obvious from the start that the WSU offense is prolific. It is a prototypical MacBride offense. The attack is balanced between running and passing, garnering more than 500 yards against Sac just as it did against Wyoming. Moreover, the O-line is top quality, there are multiple high-skill receivers and runners, and Mike Hoke is a worthy successor to Cam Higgins.

Looking ahead, tough games against a very good Southern Utah, Montana State and Northern Arizona are at home. The away games at EWU and Montana are scary, but nothing yet suggests they are unwinnable.

Weber will finish top three in the Big Sky for 2011.

Well I guess somebodey did have to win that slop fest. :geek:

Seriously though, EWU/BLM sucked, credit to the fizz D, but I am still not sold on Pflu offense, JJ (QB) is the leading rusher with 100+, 34 yards total passing, anybody can go up tempo if you run the same play over and over, Canada lookes like a RB, WTF McNight, what happened to Sambrano. 17 points wont win many BSC games, EWU D looks average now, DL below average, LB's Average, Secondary above average. Sucks about Tripp, I kinda liked him.

BTW Weber looks to be for real, Sac seems to be imploding, jury is still out on NAU/PSU, UNC really really looks bad, ISU has Kramer so all bets are off.
