Re: 9/17 Score Thread
I know it's the Pistol formation, but I'm not thrilled with the ace back being ten yards behind the line. The play calling seemed to follow the "if they can't stop it, keep calling it" theory. The only problem was that Weber DID have situations where they stopped the run. The Hammerhead run blocking is SERIOUSLY inconsistent. One play breaks for 30-40 yards, and the next is stuffed behind the line. SD is right. Some throws would back Weber off the line so the run would be more effective. Heck, some of the run success had more to do with RB athleticism than the blocking. Let's get some passes out there....SDHornet wrote:I think Sperbeck called less than 5 passes in the 1st half. Weber 14, Sac 3. 0:23 left 2Q.

21-3 WSU early 3rd. This game is well in hand. The Hornet coaches came in with no game plan on either side of the ball and it shows. Pathetic showing for the 2nd straight week.

Re: 9/17 Score Thread
Odu beats Hampton in a wild one in the wind and rain 45-42 to go 3-0 heading into CAA play.
Lots of turnovers and sloppy play but the monarchs offense was pretty much unstoppable. The only way we actually were stopped offensively was sloppy turnovers in the rain.
We've now scored 40+ in every game we've played this season.
Looking forward to playing Delaware next week and seeing how we stack up.

Yeah, that was ridiculous. The Hampton QB just kept making plays.

First half, SD. I went out to dinner at halftime. Apparently things changed in a BIG way in the second half.SDHornet wrote:What fucking game are you watching?!?SuperHornet wrote:Weber 14, Sac 3. H
Both teams are having spurts of looking unbeatable and spurts of looking like they can't do anything. Sac finished the half with a left tackle false start and getting Fleming flushed. Should have tried the 50+ FG....

Josh Booker with a 36-yard run for TD. All of a sudden, the Hornet defense can't tackle, even with the Weber scrubs in the game.

Sac had a decent drive going until Fleming threw another pick that almost busted all the way.

Sioux down 21-9 to Fresno with 5:29 left in the first half. Defense gave up an 84 yard TD on the first play and and a 52 yarder later, but overall the defense has been playing well.

Re: 9/17 Score Thread
Weber 49, Sac 17. Final
Was almost 56-17, but a last minute first-time TD for Weber was wiped off the books due to penalty. The next play was the kneel-down to end the game.
The Weber announcers are speculating on Weber replacing Sac in the Top 25. SUU got in by beating then-#12 Sac. Weber only beats a #20 team, so that might not be enough, but the way they completely dismantled the Hornets in the second half may get the job done.
