You folks must have rocks in your head. The Dakota Big 3 is about the common traditions of competition and conference that have engaged the Big 3 for over 100 years. Winning, losing, these are things experienced by any and all teams no matter who they play. The traditions that bind the Big Dakota 3 are the traditions that make us strong and unique, that put the focus of college athletics on Fargo, Brookings and Vermillion. These 3 schools together represent the common heritage of the Dakotas in the MVFC and the Summit. Its an honor reserved for those that are part of it. Everyone else is outside looking in.

Everyone else couldn't give a sh-t about your made up league of 3. I wish South Dakota State would have told NDSU you are on your own good luck in the GWFC. Then when USD joined the MVFC and UND to the Big Sky NDSU would be in a "league of their own". The Little Dakota 1.

I can see you are now reducing yourself to anger, hatred and profanity, I expected that, but I hope to help you understand that the Dakota Big 3 has nothing to do with your immature ideas of winning and fighting and ugly rivalries with the NCAA, the Tribes and Minnesota hockey.

The Dakota Big 3 is about something you cant seem to grasp. Its a higher principal above self. Its about traditions, respect, history, conference and 100 + years of mutual cooperation. A school like UND just cant waltz in and say they are part of something they are not anymore than UND could tell the NCAA to take a hike when it came to the nickname issue that has so sorely soiled the UND name.

100+ years of mutual cooperation?? Is that why you bashed USD for breaking the "tradition, respect, history, and mutual cooperation" in 2004 when they refused to play NDSU until moving up in 2008. Well UND has their own conference in all sports and is very happy and excited to be there. So enjoy your Big 3, little 3, 3 little pigs because the Big Bad Wolf of the BSC will huff and puff and blow your asses off the field.

Just like UND they were pouting about Decision 1, the bold step into the future taken by the Mighty Dakota Land Grants: NDSU and SDSU. Now in 2011 they are competing in the Dakota Big 3. Why? Because they are a strong and straight talking institution like the the other members, NDSU and SDSU, of the Dakota Big 3.

These institutions together have weathered the storm. The bridges were strengthened not burned. The lines of communication open, not closed. The contracts signed, not thrown away. USD has proven to be bigger than all of that and the Dakota Big 3 carry the banner, the traditions and the support of the fans across both states. Over 100+ years of tradition are being celebrated by the Dakota Big 3: NDSU, SDSU and Jr. transition member USD, in the MVFC and Summit leagues. Let the Games Begin!

NDSU took the step when they were ready. To brag about how long you have been in the FCS and then looking at what UNI has accomplished, I see the record of an also-ran. A team that made some noise but faded down the stretch, time after time after time. Last year was case in point. NDSU had a very successful playoff run. It was good for the Big 3 and the MVFC. Losing to Lehigh did nothing for the MVFC.

Last year was a total rebuild year for UNI. And it just so happens that it was also a year that UNI was still better than NDSU and was still the best team in the league.

Its too bad ndsu did not have the balls to move to D1 30 years ago when UNI did. I'd be bitter too if I were you. Its sad how much "small time" thinking is/was going on at ndsu

That's obvious...otherwise UND would be the KING of the Big 3/4. The only tradition the Big 3 have is getting their asses kicked by UND.
