Well, they do have to pay for their own tickets to this one...and they may need to stock up on Ramen noodles this week.Darell1976 wrote:Wouldn't the students want to go to the game? Re: JMU @ NDSU
This should be a great football game! Both teams look evenly matched. The one area I see that could be the key to winning is the turnovers. NDSU does not turn the ball over and does a good job getting turnovers when they really need them IE redzone or when game is close. I see a tight 21-17 type game where NDSU wins because of a key turnover.

Re: JMU @ NDSU
JMU gains one starter, loses another.
From 4 hs ago:
"JMU LT AJ Scott (knee) is expected to start Saturday. #JMUrivals #CAAfb"
This is huge (assuming Scott is at least 90%. Listed 6'6"/280 rFr replaces listed 6'3", 260 rFr. NDSU has a 1st team MVFC de who I'm sure they planned on lining up over JMU's undersized backup LT after seeing him struggle last week vs EKU.
"JMU CB Taveion Cuffee rolled his ankle and will miss Saturday's game. #JMUrivals #CAAfb"
How the f**K do you roll your ankle in a god da*m walk through?
Cufee is a senior, 3 year off and on starting CB (according to JMU stats, has played all 12 games, started 7) According to the game notes 2 deep his backup at the starting RCB is listed as rSo #20 Daniel Allen. My guess is Leavander Jones (who got the pick vs EKU) will probably start. #1 rSr Mike Allen, Cuffee, and Jones are the top 3 JMU CBs.
MM said back in the summer JMU goes about 5 deep at corner. If Cufee in fact can't go then looks like we'll see rFr Corey Davis #32 get a lot of pt unless I getting him confused with the other rFr CB #22 Marquis Woodward.
Cufee is a senior, and this may be his last chance to ever put on pads again (he's not NFL material, maybe CFL). I am really disappointed for him. Hopefully he can buck up and play.

Re: JMU @ NDSU
Dae'Quan Scott & Jordan Anderson have combined for 2075 yards, compared to 1462 for Ojuri & McNorton. The ypc numbers are about even (Ojuri is above Scott, but Anderson is above McNorton), but I think NDSU's line is a little better. The Dukes have also played a somewhat tougher schedule, making the yards a litte tougher to get.Gil Dobie wrote:Little surprised by the runningbacks selection, Ojuri and McNorton are pretty good, JMU must be really good.Mvemjsunpx wrote:On paper, this should have the least amount of offense of the eight second-round games. JMU might have some success running since NDSU is good-but-not-great at stopping it, but I don't think it'll be enough. The Bison are clearly better on special teams & in the redzone on both sides of the ball, not to mention the effects of the Fabariffic Fargo Dome…
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

Re: JMU @ NDSU
I can see that view. What I was looking at was JMU have 577 rushing plays and 184 passing attempts while NDSU had a more balanced attack with 377 & 255 in one less game than JMU. McNorton has been injured off and on all season, so we haven't seen him at his best. Last year he was great during the playoffs and is also a threat to catch the ball and run.Mvemjsunpx wrote: Little surprised by the runningbacks selection, Ojuri and McNorton are pretty good, JMU must be really good.

I'm not convinced JUM played a tougher schedule as Central Connecticut lost to a team on the Bison schedule St Francis, and JMU did not play Towson or Delaware. Sararin had NDSU at 155 and JMU at 161.

Bison bend and don't break on the first drive
penalty hurts the bison on their first drive - forcing a punt

When Bison fans say "physical" that drive is EXACTLY what is meant. Ground and pound and beat you up - and it's 7-0 Bison.

Williams drops another one. Nice adjustments to the play calling with JMU. Misdirection worked well on that drive to tie it.
