He was more impressive than the Payton Award winner in the head to head...I'm good with that. :thumb:

I'll accept it.
It wasn't an apology, but since you're looking for one... I'm sorry you misinterpreted my post. Poor bastard, you're getting old like Z. :kisswink:

PS: Payton Winner > Alleged Rapist :coffee:
Not that game he wasn't.

Speaking of the Stanford transfer, he'll sure have an easier time with classes at Montana.

Judging from spring videos, since I'm in Japan, the kid has definite skills, but really doesn't have the playboys down at all. So far our guy from Hawaii who was supposed to be JJ's heir apparent is the lead candidate, but none of them look spectacular or even close. But, then again, JJ was never a huge long ball threat.

As far as Brezyceck (sp?) is concerned, he has the raw talent to see the field if he ever gets the play book down, but I don't think he's THAT much better than McKinney, if at all.

Edit: playboys is an autocorrect mistake, but I'm leaving it in there.

He could have transferred anywhere in America (less about 10 schools), including YOUR school, and that statement would be true.

I'm going back on what I said before.

After watching the scrimmage video, Brez definitely is the best passer on the team. On top of that, Mckinney is only slightly better at running the ball. This kid is progressing way faster than I thought he would. At first, I was sure the battle would be between S-H and McKinney, but it's quickly looking like Adam and Trent are the front runners.

If Adam gets the play book down before the end of camp, I think he definitely will end up as our QB against USD.

Honestly, the only thing keeping him from being the guy is his limited knowledge of the playbook and symmetry with the WRs. Also worth noting, Brez throws a much better ball than JJ ever did. This year could get interesting.

None of them are even capable of completing a pass in an actual game. Haven't you been listening to 2506? :coffee:

Tough crowd here.

I was going ask if he was transferring because he heard how easy it was to get laid, but no way I'm doing that here.

I was very impressed with McKinney at the spring scrimmage in Missoula. I'm sure he has improved alot since then with the number or reps he has had and playing with the 1s. From what I am hearing, Bretz (it will take awhile to learn his name :-)) is improving rapidly with more reps on the field. And he is playing with the 2s and 3s. They appear to be very similar in many facets of the game and in the same mold as JJ.

We were in this same spot last season with an untested JJ under center. We struggled mightely in the first four games and the season didn't look very bright. We all know what the rest of the season looked like.

I remain extremely opptimistic about this team. Bretz will add depth and maybe even evolve as a star. Either way, I anticipate a slow, rough start to the season. I won't predict the outcome to the first four or five games but I think the Griz will be solid and I expect to win some games this season. There is a alot of talent on this team besides the QB position. I personally believe that Delaney will evolve as a better coach than Pflu. Our coordinators are solid and driven.

As excited as I am about this season......nest season will be lights out!

At the end of last year I started a thread on egriz about how this team was REALLY built for the 2013 season....with all the starters we lost after the end of 2011, 2012 was going to be kind of a rough year anyways...but I believe there's only about 3 starters from THIS team that'll be gone in 2013...that bodes VERY well for a deep playoff run next year, but it doesn't mean the team can't be successful this year as well.
