Dude, again with this computer rankings ****? NEWS FLASH: Win more f'in games and you'll make it into the playoffs. I don't care how difficult or easy your schedule is, if you can't win 7 games out of a 12 game schedule you don't deserve to be in, PERIOD!
That is just dumb. I guess you like the weak 8-3 teams getting into the playoffs so you can post some patsy wins even in the tourney. I would rather see the best teams get in. Watch the NCAA basketball selections. Number of wins doesn't count anywhere near the way it does in the FCS. Big East/ACC teams with 7,8 and 9 losses get into the field routinely while teams from the mid-majors with 3,4 or 5 losses are left home. AND, those Big East/ACC teams make deep runs frequently and sometimes win the whole tourney.
I cannot tell if you are serious with this. Vanilla won 6 games. If you don't win more than 6 games, you don't belong in the playoffs. Most knowledgeable fans of FCS football would agree. EWU had a shitty season in 2011, winning only 6 games with a tremendously difficult schedule and you didn't see any of us bitching about being left out of the playoffs. You don't win enough games, you sit home.

We only said this to him 72 different ways the week leading up to the UD-VU game.

Couldn't be more serious. The clue that you're not "getting it" is your comment that most " knowledgeable fans of fcs football" know. Thats my point. The selection process is awful. You all have been beaten down by the flawed process for so long that you think it's the right process. But, just for fcs??? That's crazy.

Would love to have seen you play a CAA schedule this year. You have no clue. Doesn't the fact that they haven't lost a game to any other conference and we are already in the semis give you any pause at all ?

Maybe a better way of putting it to you: Do you really think any of the teams that you mentioned as better inclusions really had any realistic shot at winning a NC this year?
Strength of schedule is factored into the selection process, as are many other things...including wins. I would rather the playoffs not be watered down any more than it already is by a bunch of shitty 6-5 or 6-6 teams. This isn't the FBS.
But maybe you're right: Maybe we should include all the shitty .500 teams in the playoffs because they got beat down by a bunch of FBS teams. Tougher schedule, right?

Yes. Easy answer. And definitely had chances for making a deep run. And...way better chance than the softies they let in

If EWU finds a way to beat Towson this weekend, we will be 3-0 against the CAA in the playoffs. Will you be back here posting in this thread if that happens? My guess is no.

I'm not going anywhere. And I won't be shocked if EWU wins. Surprised a bit but not shocked. EWU is a very good team as all the computer rankings will confirm. They benefit from home field and could pull off the upset.
BlackFalkin wrote:Both CAA teams play on the road this week, and against team ranked higher than them.
So nobody expects them to win, including me. Nobody has beaten NDSU the last two years in the playoffs and EWU is tough on the red turf. But if the CAA teams do win, I don't expect you will be here posting on Sunday.
Its fxcking hysterical that garbage teams like Delaware, has a fan that wants to talk shit about EWU. EWU currently has a home semifinal game btw. EWU crushed Delaware's 19-0 lead in the championship game a couple years back, AND YOURE STILL NOT OVER IT.
That's what this is really about. Meanwhile EWU is about to win another championship. I know you HATE IT that EWU is in the semis again and your team is still at home. I know you're praying towson tries to hold BigPlayVA's jock...not gonna happen. We all watched KC Keeler bitch, like the bitch that he is, after the title game in 2011.
Getcha weight up CAA fans. You're makin fools of yourselves.

And what conferences are their playoff wins against?

Stop it already. nova didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. They were 6-5. Four of those losses were to FCS teams - Maine, UNH, Fordham and (gulp) JMU. Fordham was proven to be a fraud, JMU wasn't very good, and sure, you made it respectable against Maine and lost a close one to UNH. You keep talking about the close losses and how if those just went differently how different it would be, but that also ignores the close wins nova had this year - beating W&M and UD with scores in the last minute surely balance out the close losses. Face it, nova was about a .500 team. One really good win (Towson), wins over likewise middling teams (W&M, UD), and then three wins over pretty bad teams (Penn, Rhode Island, Stony Brook). nova just didn't beat enough good teams to warrant picking a 6-5 team. And it wasn't all that close of a decision, either.

For the record, I agree with this.
Feel like I am spitting into the wind with this, but I'll try one more time. The comment about NOVA's schedule being middling is ridiculous. Everyone that does SOS ratings for FCS has their SOS in the top 5. No matter how you try to spin it, that's a fact.
By agreeing that teams like W&M (SOS 9), DE. (SOS 27)and Nova (SOS 2) shouldn't have been in the field you are agreeing with the selections of Samford (beaten 55-14), Southern Utah (beaten 51-20) and South Carolina State (beaten by 10 by a five loss Furman team)
All three of these selections were all at large selections with the magic number of 8 and 9 wins and had low SOS. I think SC State SOS was something in the 80's. To quote another poster "most knowledgeable fans of FCS football" knew they weren't any good. Naturally they were all well beaten in the preliminary round. They were poor selections. That's my point. No one here seems to think SOS has any merit in FCS. I just don't get it.
I know the computer rankings are REALLY unpopular on this site but any of them would have predicted those defeats.

Win more games. It's as simple as that. Schedule a 12th game and win it. You'd probably have been in. Don't leave it in the hands of a selection committee.

This. At which point they would have at least been solidly a bubble team.
