Someone summed it up perfectly on the JMU board:
"
The thing that is glaring is he never placed the blame on himself and the rest of his coaching staff..

“It got really physical outside with the receivers,” Keeler said. “I was complaining a lot to the officials, but however they call it is how they’re going to call it. I’m not here to make any excuses. On film, you could see they were very grabby and very physical. When that happens, you have to make adjustments. More than anything, it was about Jeremiah not throwing the ball very well.”
"Translation:
I don't want to blame the refs, but I'm going to.
Real DBs from non-soft conferences actually play defense.
My quarterback sucked today.
So, he blames the refs, throws his QB under the bus and takes no personal responsibility for not making those adjustments.

JMU's backup rFr RT #68 played very well. SHSU's #92 PJ Hall ended up with 8 tackles (6 solo/2 assist). 3.5 tackles for loss (1.5 sacks)/-25 yards, all 4 of those plays coming when he was lined up across from JMU's backup #68. Hall was a beast who did wreak some havoc, but since the rest of SHSU's defense sucked, it didn't matter..BDKJMU wrote:Sam Houston State at JMU: Matchups To Watch

Looks like JMUs 6'6"/300 All American rSr RT is doubtful. He got a high ankle sprain vs Elon. After the by week tried to play vs UNH but lasted only 2 series. The backup, a 6'4"/300 rFr has played well in the last game in a half in relief. SHSU has a stud at DE (21 tackles for loss/11 sacks). If JMU's RT is #76 its the All American. If its #68 its the backup...JMU OC was talking about doing some things so #68 isn't left in one on one situations with an All American..
While NDSU has a very good defense, they don't have a de end as good as SHSU's #92. Hopefully JMU's RT All CAA/pre season All American #76 is back (word is on the JMU board is he will be). If not, I'm not worried with the backup.

I actually agree with him about the QB not throwing the ball very well. As I said I suspect he was showing the effects of getting injured late in the Chatty game. You look at how he was holding his arm and shoulder after that happened and you'd have thought no way he's going to play the next week.BDKJMU wrote: Someone summed it up perfectly on the JMU board:

But I also think it's an illustration of the problem with the way they built their team. You know North Dakota State lost their starting quarterback last year and got through the semifinals without him. They had a good backup quarterback. But it's also true that they had a defense and a running game.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

"Nothing Came home to roost" have you been reading the Autobiography of Malcolm X lolJohnStOnge wrote:I won't say I wasn't surprised at the MAGNITUDE of the margin but I wasn't shocked because I was kind of expecting Sam Houston State's quarterback to have issues after watching the way he was carrying his arm after being injured late last week. If you were watching the last part of that game against Chattanooga and saw how he was holding himself with his arm drooping late you had to wonder if he could possibly play without being severely off the next week. Don't know for sure if that happened but I did see him a little bit this year and he was extremely accurate. He could put the ball in the right spot even if the receivers were pretty well covered. He wasn't like that last night. Whether it's because he hurt his arm or not he was not...whether it was the cold...whatever it was...like he's been previously this season.dal4018 wrote: I was just shocked at the final score.
As I wrote after Sam Houston State beat McNeese but gave up a bunch of offense, a bunch of rushing yards, and couldn't run the football it was a team that had an explosive passing game and nothing else. No running game. No defense. Last night the explosive passing game didn't work and the "nothing else" came home to roost. Since they had no defense and no running game they were immediately in serious trouble under those circumstances.
Remember, McNeese State...which did not have that good a running game this year...went on the road and put up 43 points, 547 yards, and 217 rushing yards at 6.6 yards per pop against Sam Houston State. Sam Houston State won the game because their quarterback threw for 504 yards and 6 touchdowns. It was very reasonable to expect that if Sam Houston State ever ran into a situation where their passing game wasn't overwhelming the opponent they were going to be in serious trouble.

NDSU has given up more than 20 points only three times in their last 22 playoff games and all three were in the same year (2014-15).dal4018 wrote:We will see tonight!!!I think it will be a shootout with JMU pulling the upset 41-38!!!!!JohnStOnge wrote:

Only way either team gets 40 would be by getting at least 1 non offensive TD..
Either offense should score between 21 and 35..
