That's purely rumor. We were too busy laughing at Jensen and the choke artists that are the NDSU defense.lakesbison wrote:Where's the pic of ewuranger, black falkin and Screamin eagle doing a foursome with BILL FETTE ???
That came out of the NDSU game huh? really?JBB wrote:I think one of the most interesting things to come out of the EWU game was the exposure of T.J. as a finesse back, probably injury prone. He has speed and some moves but once the BISON figured him out and started getting solid hits on him he didnt last long. Good back but DJ McNorton is better and stronger. I dont think there is much difference in their speed either. Good luck to TJ. I think it was smart for him to make the move now rather than risk more injury and wear and tear in his Senior year.
If you are a stronger individual without the history of injury its better to stay and get another year under your belt.
You better hope your boys never get run over like that again. I can't imagine how stupid y'all would have looked against a good one. At MOST NDSU was nothing more than an obstacle course for TJ.JBB wrote:Well, he had a lot of help from the refs, but like I said he has some speed and some moves, decent enough, not spectacular by any stretch, and certainly not outstanding by NDSU BISON standards but a good back.
He did have some success early, that was to his credit. He was able to slip the tackles, but that was defended and once he started getting hit he really crumbled. I actually liked that freshman you guys put in better.
Im not even sure what TJ is doing going into the draft. He might be afraid of another year of college ball because of his injury history? Better to take a shot now when he is still relatively healthy than absorb another year of punishment.
It was a good win for you guys though, even with all the bad calls that kept you in it. It really showed the stamina of your team and showed they could take advantage of all those breaks.
He's a pretty nice guy like that.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:You know the weirdes thing about JBB is that he rubs his own nose in it for you.
JBB really brings the entertainment, bless his foolish heart.uofmman1122 wrote:This thread is awesome.

McNorton will run where the blocking takes him, he is nowhere near as shifty or fast as TJ. If he were he'd be a lock for the draft, but he isn't so he won't be. He's about as fast as Deji Karim on one leg.JBB wrote:Well, he had a lot of help from the refs, but like I said he has some speed and some moves, decent enough, not spectacular by any stretch, and certainly not outstanding by NDSU BISON standards but a good back.

DJ McNorton was looking very good too and this season hope are high for him. If he has a successful season he will get a shot at the NFL. Statistically there isnt any difference between McNorton and Jones. McNorton should be more solid prospect when the NFL does come calling. He is more a more physical back but just as shifty and just as fast. After his Sr. year will have a more solid resume. Lot of questions with Jones to go along with his potential. I think it starts with the injury problem.

With TJ gone to the draft he just moved up to next on the Payton Watch List.JBB wrote:

There are 9 teams in the conference. Were you proud of scoring in the 33rd percentile on your SAT?JBB wrote:The Bobcats were #6 overall in defense BSC and #4 against the rush.
I know. And if they'd only had Bill Fette officiating that game, they would have had 230 yards in the first half and a chance to win at the end.JBB wrote:The Bobcats were #6 overall in defense BSC and #4 against the rush.
Let's hope it doesn't take JBB as long to stop complaining about the refs in that game as it did for Griz fans to stop complaining about the field in the 2004 NC game.kalm wrote:I know. I can summarize the battle between NDSU's Defense and TJ with a simple drawing for ya.JBB wrote:Ive seen or listened to most if not all of McNortons games. One thing I can say about him is his ability to get better and better. Im not sure about the speed, he is at worst a step slower than TJ but he has the moves, better than Jones as far as Im concerned. If McNorton follows the blocking Jones is simply running away. It took NDSU less than a half to figure him out and then it was lights out for TJ and a hasty and strategic decision to turn pro.
You get a better look at how good McNorton is by watching the Bobcat game but he had a good day against the Eagles too.
