My prediction is the Gateway will have 4 Top 10 Teams, and 7 Top 20 Teams for most of the year.
Top 10
UNI
SIU
NDSU
YSU
Top 20
Above 4
SDSU
WIU
ILSU
YSU is getting some nice transfers including a 3 star recruit from the University of Iowa and a few other Big Ten recruits.. Watch our offense, we may have two different ones next year. We have a spread offense with Ferlando Williams which is very much like Armanti Edwards just with a weaker arm; and then the normal balanced attack with Todd Rowan; who I believe is better than Zetts.

NDSU will return with an even stronger team than the previous years. The running game will explode and will be the #1 running game in the country. Offense returns a majority of its starters with losing key players such as Steve Walker and Nate Safe. Defense side could be the best defense NDSU has seen in a very long time. Secondary will be much improved, LB core is losing a huge player in Joe Mays but will reload that position, D-Line should be better as well.
Weakness will be the punting game because our punting God has graduated :p

I predict that the Griz will win the Big Sky despite the loss of nearly the entire defense. This is partially due to the coaching change at EWU.
I also predict that Elon will win the SoCon.

the 3 time defending champs will be losing a lot this coming year. kevin richardson, corey lynch, kerry brown, hans batichon, dexter jackson, touchstone, scott suttle, rauch, to name a few
BUT............
4 peat for 4 reasons (seems fitting to have 4)
1. devon moore has been a great backup to k rich this year but it's now time for him to fill k-rich's shoes next year behind armanti which he is definately capable of doing
2. the secondary is taking a big hit next year but the play of cortez gilbert in the playoffs was very impressive and incoming freshman justin lloyd, 2 star recruit out of charlotte should fit in nicely.
3. armanti
4. because 4 rhymes with moore

Yeah, everybody's D is better than anyone we've ever played. Yada yada yada. Heard that story the past two playoff seasons. Didn't work well for anyone.

I don't know that...since you never played the game...
It's all in your mind...see, here in football, you put up or shut up...UNI did not, so shut up...

Better game? Maybe. Delaware would have given us a better game if we'd had decent refs. Still would have been the same outcome. ASU was not going to be denied.

Depending on whom Eastern Washington hires to replace Wolff will be huge. I would have picked EWU to easily win the Big Sky next year but now it is up in the air. Funny thing is that the Griz have an easier time most years playing at Cheney then they do playing at Wa/Griz.
1. EWU
2. UM
3. Weber
4. NAU
5. MSU
6. PSU
7. Sac
8. ISU
9. UNC

putter,
You're forgetting that UNC was playing MUCH better at the end of this past season. If this trend continues into next year, they could easily find themselves in 6th or 7th by year's end.

Right. MSU and UNC should switch.
Actually, Weber looks kind of high, to me. Big Sky could be pretty competitive.

Right!!!!

What is funny is Kitty fans looking to be top 3. Heck, you guys sent UNC rocketing forward from the bottom last year.
It would not surprise me to see UNC win 2-3 conference games next year as they were playing some very good ball at the end.

What is funny is seeing the fizz in the Top 3. EWU has the best returning team and probably won't lose much steam with Baldwin, but I really hoped McElwain would've taken the job.
griz still have Hauck, but lost a lot of experience on both sides of the ball.
Bobcats will be in the top three, my guess 1 or 2.

Curious why Lennon would leave UND for SIU with his team about to begin 1-AA play. I can imagine the freezing cold had something to do with it..

About double the pay- SIU pays around $200,000/yr.

Luck has nothing to do with it,DELAWARE played the game & won. The same with SIU... DELAWARE made the plays they had to make to win, UNI & SIU didnt. Taking nothing away from UNI & SIU they are 2 great programs. IMO these 2 road games part of the reason why the HENS were blown out of NC game, along with no breaks & those MEAC refs.....anddd, THAT HOTHOTHOT APP STATE TEAM!!! GO HENS!!!

Alright. The Big Sky is going to be pretty competitive more so then past years. Montana has lost some key starters on defense but their offense is still very powerful. They have a Sr. Qb and a very good WR core. EWU has good team...but are starting over with a brand new coach with brand new ideas. This is what will limit them in the BIg Sky, but they will still be a top team. Also PSU i belive will be up there, they have an amazing coach and a great team led by Sophmore QB Hubel and several defnesive starters returning. And Weber State is somewhat of a sleeper team this year, i see the Cats surprisng the BIg Sky behin Eatuie, Higgins and Trevyn Smith.
Big Sky Standings:
1st-Montana (7-1 in conference *Griz will win in tiebreaker over EWU)
2nd-Ewu (7-1 in conference *will get into playoffs)
3rd-Psu (6-2 in conference *possibly get into playoffs)
4th-Weber State (5-3 in conference *fall just short)
5th-Nau (4-4 in conference *Rebuilding Year)
6th-Unc (3-5 in conference *Bears playing great at end of 07 year)
7th-Msu (3-5 in conference *Need some offense badly)
8th-Isu (1-7 in conference *No offense either, need to improve here.)
