Welcome to the playoffs, Elon! And, well, goodbye. Richmond wins in a blowout.

I think it could be a one score game, but if Elon turns it over like we did against App State it could get ugly fast................real fast.

I think Elon wins this one.

Elon is not as bad as they showed against App. They have a very good defense and a very good offense. Richmond has a great defense... and a pretty mediocre offense.

Haha saying we have a mediocre offense is very kind
The way we run the ball is just sad :ohno:

If Richmond forces Riddle into an early turnover, UR can win (and win big). However, if they allow Riddle to get into any kind of rhythm, Elon could pull off the upset.

I agree...it really comes down to if Riddle can find his groove or not in the game. Elon seemed to rebound well against Samford in the 2nd half of that game so I think we don't need to worry too much on the "late November slips". I was at the UR-W&M game and it seemed like Ward held on to the ball for too long trying to find receivers when he was under pressure. If Elon can keep him under pressure, and stop the UR run game, I can very well see Elon pulling the upset...

...in fact I'm calling it (homer pick)
Elon--27
Richmond--23

Elon better find a running game, otherwise Riddle and his tunnel vision are in for a long day/night

I don't believe Elon will run the ball very easily on Richmond. But... in the only game I've seen Richmond play this year (W&M) their secondary seemed to have a lot of breakdowns. I think Riddle and Hudgins will have a big day.

Richmond is in for a big surprise. Elon is better than they were last year.

Elon's best win is FURMAN. Let that sink in for a minute. FURMAN.

Elon will be the 7th best team Richmond has played this year. The only two teams worth a shit that they played (Wake & App St) they got rolled. Oh, they look GREAT against the likes of Presbyterian, Davidson, Western Carolina and Wofford....Elon gets ROLLED by Richmond. If this game is closer than 21 I'll be shocked.

You're incredibly wrong. Richmond does not have the offense to pile on points like that. I'm not sure what gives you the indication they do. :ohno:

Richmond may win... but, if they do it will be very close.

Oh, let's see: Maybe it was the 49 against Georgetown, the 47 against Hofstra, the 42 against Towson, the 38 against Maine and VMI, or the 34 against UMass.

This game will be 31-10, or something to that effect. Elon only put up 10 against App State, and Richmond is better than App State.

Best defense in that group is Hofstra. Most of those defenses are TERRIBLE (100+ in FCS). Good defenses have shut them down this year. Elon is one of the best, if not the best, they've faced this year.

Richmond is not going to score 31 on Elon.

As I said in my first post... I wouldn't judge Elon off that App game if I were you. ASU and Armanti have a history of making very good teams looks like absolute crap in big games when they're at the top of their game. '07 Richmond, '07 Delaware, '08 Wofford, '09 Elon... All those games were blowouts and all those teams were much, much better than the final score indicated.

The very core of all of that is disrespect for the SoCon
People who are down on the SoCon need to keep in mind a few things...
1) The worst SoCon team beat EKU 24-7
2) Samford (3-5 SoCon) took a UCF team that is 7-4 (5-2 CUSA) down to the wire with key injuries on defense
3) App. goes down to the wire with an ECU team that is 7-4 (6-1 in CUSA) down to the wire without Armanti Edwards

The SoCon is better than people think it is, and Elon is the second-best team in the conference.

And the very core of your statement is absolute denial as to the current state of the SoCon. I'm not arguing about the quality of ASU, so your #3 point is moot. And to claim a victory over an OVC team as proof of conference strength would be like the Griz saying that "Hey! We beat SUU, we're good dammit!" :coffee:
