Disclaimer for you, UNH: I've seen enough of McNeese over the years to have zero confidence in my pick. They are a wildly unpredictable team.

UCA was the first team to slow down McNeese this year. First team to hold them under 300 yards. It was also a light drizzle in cold weather. So hopefully we can justify that offense hiccup. We were due for one of those games and hopefully we got it out of the way. It was tough to pass in that weather so we only ended up with 87 yards passing. But 167 yards rushing. 167 is rather low also.

Todd Pendland and Derrick Fourroux makes this team go.

On defense, where does UNH excel? What will McNeese have trouble doing?

On offense? is UNH a running team or a passing team? What type of offensive style do they run?

Hate to say but, a good pass D will stop most of the SLC teams. We are pass heavy and D's are inconsistent. That was fairly evident all the way through conference play. We have 5 of the top 36 Passing O's in FCS [1-SFA, 8-TXST, 9-SELA, 36-MSU] Fortunately for MSU - UNH's passing D is ranked below theirs but their rushing D is 24th.

MSU is the most balanced O in the SLC (IMHO) but a D that can stop them will beat them. It is the playoffs and everyone steps their game up a little more now. It will be an interesting and, likely, tough game. To win MSU has to stay in their game and no mistakes. To win UNH has to bend and not break.

No predictions other than I can't call this one. :ohno:

No excuses. A loss is a loss. I could say we were one bad pass away from MSU's position, which we were, but, it doesn't change the fact that we ended with a L in the record books.

If a good pass D will stop most SLC teams, that bodes well for us. Good thing McNeese is the #5 rushing team in the country. For the fans have not seen Todd Pendland won't know that though. Let's keep it quiet and let everyone wonder who the little twerp is wearing #22.

Our #22 scored 3 TD's against McNeese. McNeese's # 22 scored 3 TD's on us and our #22 is not our no 1 back. Would have loved to have had Bush in that game (alas, not until next year). Our rushing D sucked, for the most part, and we evened up on the rushing TD's.
Pendland - 168/998 17 TD's
Canady - 128/546 9 TD's

If UNH has any form of running game they will run on MSU's D when it counts. Btu I don't know anything, really, about UNH.

I have to work Saturday so will probably miss seeing this game....sucks big time!

(Boy did we ever miss Bush this season :( )

Looks like it will be another great day for football at the hole. Forecasted to be sunny and mid 60's on Saturday. To the UNH fans making the trip, come in on Friday and stay through Sunday. Enjoy what Southwest Louisiana has to offer. The food, the people, the game day atmosphere will make for a very enjoyable time. But sorry, the ride home will be a long one.

MSU 28
UNH 21
