Well I guess that answers the question about what to do when ODU and Georgia State join.... but what does this do for scheduling now that their are two open spots on numerous teams 2010 schedules?

Another "commuter school" team bites the dust. Darn shame, too. :ohno:

I think that's probably what will happen, which stinks because I like playing UD and Nova every year. Next year will be interesting, though. Can we just be a 10-team league and only miss one conference mate?

Wow - that really sucks. Did anyone see this coming? Are they THAT hard up, or just have a president that doesn't support football?

Unfortunately that looks like what will happen. :ohno:

Northeastern gave them an out.

Domino effect. I feel for guys like Uncle Buck that have sat through tough times the last few years.

Towson and URI are next. This will be an 8 team conference by next year. No more divisions.

Towson already unofficially dropped their football program 18 years ago.

Damn! What is the CAA going to do? Pretty soon, they're going to be down to 9 teams, they're going to have to go back to one division, and they're all going to have to play everybody in their conference......JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER FCS CONFERENCE.

And it's the PATSIES that are folding like cheap pianos.....the HORROR!!!! If Towson and Rhode Island go next, the CAA is gonna be a fuckin' bloodbath!

Jeebus - I wonder how long Hofstra and Northeastern will stay CAA for all-sports?

This opens the Long Island recruiting market up for SBU big time. Should help them tremendously.

I hope not.

I may be wrong occasionally. And Z may be wrong occasionally. However, I can't imagine we've ever both been wrong at the same time.

I bet URI hangs on for at least one more season...no source just opinion...

They have put some bucks onto facilities and could try to capitalize on the Hofstra/Northeastern demises to try and build their program... :twocents:

That would be the smart thing and I hope that happens, but did anyone see Hofstra dropping their program this year?

I thought maybe next year at the earliest for them as well.
