Semi Final Matchups - Who wins?

I'm miffed...

.... Montana's home playoff record would make me think they are going to cruise into Nooooga... but ASU has been finding a way to come back and win all year long.... kind of like Montana has nack for coming back this year also. My gut tells me Montana will win this game easily, but I think App will hang around til the end and potentially win this.

.... W&M has let up three points the whole post season vs two high powered offenses. Nova put out a statement against UNH today. W&M had more total offense when they faced Nova earlier this year, but turned the ball over twice leading to two Villanova touchdowns... final score Nova 28 - W&M 17. If W&M defense shows up like they have thus far and their offense doesn't turn the ball over, I think it could be a long day for the Wildcats.

I'm going with both road teams. Both games are too close to call, really, but I think W&M will be tough for Nova to beat a second time and after seeing App flip the switch in the fourth quarter, I think it'll be hard for Montana to stop that momentum. This will be the best team they've seen all year and the soft schedule may catch up to them here.

Montana and Nova.

Hopefully this will shut up the "soft schedule" comments

Beating JMU on the road last year sure didn't.

Suddenly ASU is a "good team" because they managed to beat a CAA team?   :coffee:

Suddenly? How about three titles in four years? How is that "suddenly"? :coffee:

App State is the best team Montana will play so far this year. It has nothing to do with who they beat today. That's all I was saying.

The way these four teams are playing, they'll ALL be the best teams they've ALL played so far this year.

Same crap different year. Last year it was how Montana's soft schedule has not prepared them to handle JMU's offense and they wouldn't be able to score against them.....this year the Griz scored 61 against the #5 D from the MVC, who at the time were considered a good conference. The Griz win and SDSU is highly overrated and the Griz suck because they gave up 48 to that poor Jack offense. Now the #1 offense in all the land come to Montana and puts up the big doughnut and SFA was not really that good because the SLC is not a good conference anyway. Can't win for losing and the sad thing is, App can beat Montana and if it happens, it's because they were overrated. Not because App is a very good team.. :ohno:

Great Point. Like I said in an earlier thread....who gives 2 sh*ts about stats and who played who.....its all about what's next and momentum.....

Here's my honest opinion: There is no shame in losing a semi-final game, or the NC. If you're one of the last 4 teams standing every year, that to me says something great about our program. These games are almost always close, and will usually come down to turnovers, key penalties, etc. These are four GREAT teams, and it's kinda neat to not have a clear favorite....

AZ, if you were a CAA poster, that would be the post of the year.... :thumb:

Hey, don't get me wrong: We've been to the Chipper 6 times, and only having 2 NC trophies in the trophy case is a bit dissapointing, but again: if a team is in the semi's, they're a good team and there's no shame in losing from that point on.

NO kidding....I have come to the realization that this all comes down to penis envy. All the negativity about Montana, the soft schedules, the "no business being here" bullsh*t is getting old.

The only ones on this board that talk sh*t about Montana consistently are the ones whos records aren't even close to MT. Always an excuse to why we win.........

.....oh well...at least we can say that no team has won as many games as Montana this past decade....that can't take that from us.

don't care if people love/hate Montana but it is the same thing EVERY year. Montana doesn't play anyone etc. etc. etc. Richmond lost to App at home but they play in the CAA so they have been battle tested. Montana could lose to App at home and it is because it will have been the first tough team they played all year..... :ohno:

Do any of you really disagree that this is the best team Montana will have faced this year? I don't quite understand the anger from montana fans about people making that statement. Sure, SDSU and SFA were good teams, but ASU will be the first "elite" team that Montana will have faced this year.

It IS the first legit title contender that they will play. Weber, EWU, SDSU, and SFA are all decent, but they are not on the same level as ASU. We'll see how they stack up on saturday.

It's also the first legit title contender ASU will have played. THAT'S WHY THEY'RE IN THE SEMIFINALS!!!

Why is that so fucking hard to understand? Is it the UNI education that makes you not get it? :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

No, they played and beat Richmond, a legit title contender.
