Whoever wins tomorrows game will destroy Villanova. Holy crap that was a lame game. I can see why only 800 people bothered to show up, watching my cactus grow was more exciting.

As much as I love the CAA, I don't see the Wildcats winnin' the NC against Montana or Appy. But I'll be cheerin' for them anyways and hope that they prove me wrong. Anyways, congrats to Villanova!

Good to see a fellow CAA fan jinx the Wildcats. Not that they had a prayer against the Montana/App game winner anyway....

No kidding......i fell asleep multiple times.....

I said that about the W&M SIU game as well. BORING AND LAME. And to think that SIU and Villanova were ranked higher then MT and App State. Is the FBS selection committee ranking the FCS teams now?

The whole production smacked of a high school game. I was embarrassed. Empty stands, a shitty band - did you hear their atonal assault on music? No wonder FBS people don't give us teh time of day. The Montana game might wipe away the memories of this abortion.

Terrible.

Hysterical...
My brother and I watched the first half - he's not a big FCS football fan - but I convinced him to sit down and watch with me... well needless to say he was like: "Dude... this blows"

He said the same thing Capn' said...
He's like: "Yeah, I understand why nobody comes to see these two shitty teams play..."

I was actually laughing after a while - he was pointing out the play calling on both offenses - in complete shock at the lack of creativity and low quality execution...

a very boring game
I was embarrassed...

my thoughts exactly, this was an awful "showcase" for FCS football. terrible atmosphere, terrible competition. I fell asleep, it was that bad.

My biggest complaint with Villanova hosting was the stadium size. People who never watch FCS will see this game because it's on national TV, see the high school sized stadium and assume that FCS plays like high school.

Lets hope the Montana - ASU game is a good one. At least we know the crowd will be.

I don't think so. While I think Montana and ASU have a good chance to beat Villanova, I don't think either will shut down Villanova's offense like W&M did.

For the sake of FCS, lets all hope the NC game is a good one.

Yet somehow people tend to give credibility to MAC and Sunbelt teams? I'm not saying your brother does, but a lot of people do.

What makes them "less highschool"? A bigger emptier stadium? 22 more scholarships for kids not playing?

The game was a matchup of two really good defensive teams. The offensive playcalling left a lot to ask for, but its not everyday teams from the Northeast play in 15-20 degree weather. The ball (synthetic GST leather balls which they were using) gets very slippery and the field was frozen solid from the retained water of the storm that rolled through two days ago. The OCoordinator's got conservative and the defenses for the most part tightened up.

Sorry guys, I'd take that game last night over any crappy MAC or Sunbelt game any day of the week.

Agree. It was a good game. I do though think the better team lost. I know, I know....

Yeah, this is how I feel... the game was ugly, but you matched up two teams who play great defense and offense. What other team scored more than 3 points on W&M this post season? That says something about Villanova in my book, especially when there are people out there touting how the high powered offenses of Weber and SIU would decimate W&M. It was a good, ugly victory for Nova... yeah, the play call was predictable by the end and if it wasn't for two big plays by both teams, this could have easily been a 7-6 Nova victory.

As for the play call, if it's working, why go away from it? Szczur and Ball seemed to have no problem running the ball at the end of the game, why go away from that? It's like Georgia Tech and the triple option, you know they are going to run it and you know Johnathan Dwyer is going to get he ball.... why can't you stop him if you know it's coming?

William and Mary won the yardage battle again, and the turnover didn't lead to points this time.

A whole 4171 were interested enough to go, up from 2661 the week before. There will be 6 times that today.

I'll work on it during the offseason :D

Edit: I'll just leave out TXST at the start though. We will have a new QB and as of right now we have no coaching staff after Dec 31. Not worth the effort to even put us on a display.
