Nice one Pols.. I am sure the column will be like some posters over on the App message board. The Griz did not beat App, App beat themselves with "uncharacteristic dropped balls" and "penalties". This game should not be cheapened by those excuses

 This isn't the MMB, the ASU posters here are (for the most part) "informed" fans who aren't talking like that. You want to complain about the MMB do it there, or don't go there. No need to bash them here, where we all have respect for each other and the two teams. That's the ASU homer board, this is THE national board (Eff you Ralph and TT), I think the people here know football.

AS a side note to any of the ASU fans on here, my comment is directed at coulson and coulson only. Both teams played great last night, quite possibly the toughest game I have seen played at home. This game was barely over when Appa (John) had sent texts of Congratulations to all of us he knows out here. :thumb: :thumb:

BTW: Coulson wrote another great article at TSN about the Montana / APP game....
I like what he writes, I always have - and it has not taken anything away from my love of the state of Montana and the U.of M. football program

Dave Coulson is an advocate of our brand of football - he promotes FCS beautifully...

Hating him is a little like being a mad dog - biting the hand that feeds

If you read some other posts of mine, I specifically thanked all the App fans here and on eGriz for being nothing but class! :thumb:

You have not been paying attention then to the majority of his articles my ironing happy friend. Anything he has ever wrote that was pro Montana was forced on him. I am not going to but one can find numerous articles he has penned and rarely do they giving props to Montana. They are more in the order of presenting just the facts.
BTW I roomed with him during the 2004 Championship game and got a little more insight into him than most have.

Dropped balls isn't really an excuse, it's a reality. I'm sure the weather was making it tough for us to catch, but if you're a receiver and that's your job, you find a way to make it happen. UM was very effective on the ground, us a little less so we had to resort to a more pass oriented game which fell just short. I don't know what those guys are saying on MMB since I don't visit the site, but most rational ASU fans will tell you we played a better team yesterday. My hat is off to the Griz on a well played game.

I know, just pointing out the reality that it's a homer board, so you're going to get stuff like that. No one here is saying it, so I don't see why it's relevant here. Thanks for being a good Griz fan, Montana was the better team yesterday. Good luck next week, I fully expect Montana to win their third.

Yeah, I quit reading Coulson before last season started. He is incredibly biased, especially against Montana and JMU, and just makes so many factual errors that I cannot understand why anyone allows him to have any national exposure.

And rooming with him....

So what is Coulson's major malfunction?

His numerous errors are not limited to hating the Griz. For example, he also did yeoman's work trying to foist Prairie View A&M into the top 15 this year and generate at-large playoff talk for the Panthers, a remarkable team but hardly worthy of at-large consideration.

Sorry bud, but you are wrong on this one. I don't read and he has driven many away from one of the best sources of FCS information out there. I said once before...he writes opinion pieces and is flat out shitty at it. Tony Moss and Co. were FAR superior at putting out information that was fair to all in the FCS.

BTW, well said on the thread PG. :D :thumb:

So be it for you guys. You want to know why this man has no credibility as a writer for most MSU, UofM, JMU, and various other teams just look at what he's written on these teams. If he had a similar take on events that were very alike I wouldn't have a problem with him other than he puts out fairly sloppy journalism. I've seen him mention graduated personnel as people to watch out for this season and so on.

A specific though...
Montana beats UNH 47-17 and the Grizzlies were running up the score on them in a tasteless display lacking sportsmanship.

When App. kicks the dog shit out of a playoff opponent they are just too gifted and too talented to stop.
