I didn't see as many game as you did this year, clenzie, but I thought he kinda glided on his 2008 reputation.
Re: AP FCS All-America Teams Announced
To some extent, however he spend most of the season fighting double teams plus chips from a TE or RB. He may not have had the stats people were expecting, but he did cause a lot of issues that don't get put into the stats. He has a ton of hurries, pressures, forcing a QB to throw the ball away/scramble/check down and avoid the big play. I agree his stats were down, but effort and problems causes weren't. I'm willing to bet when teams planned for the UNI defense they planned around Ruffin and Mahoney.Cap'n Cat wrote:clenz wrote:Nice to see Ruffin finally get some recognition.

I like Ruffin but I don't think he is better than Lane, Tracy, Kukucka, Moats, Batten, or Anthony but yeah reputation and senior status gets a lot of players honored.Cap'n Cat wrote:clenz wrote:Nice to see Ruffin finally get some recognition.

They did win the Big South this year. Santucci is a real good LB.

I actually think it is good that Santucci got some love. He is a great player. GW LB Marty Patterson better get some preseason love next year. He is another great one and I don't see him flopping like the previous two GW LBs have done. Patterson might even get NFL looks.Cap'n Cat wrote:Don't mean to be a dick here, but what in the ever-lovin' fvck is someone from Stony Brook doing on this?

I think nobody on these boards care other than ODU fans since he's just a punter.∞∞∞ wrote:1st Team All-American in ODU's first year! Woot! Tellin' you people, Plisco is da greatest punter!
The fact that ODU has an all-american in their first season who is a freshman AND a walk-on is very VERY impressive.
Life is good right now for the ODU Monarchs.

Life is good right now for the ODU Monarchs.![]()

Re: AP FCS All-America Teams Announced
Nate Overbay got shafted... easily one of the top 3 TE's in FCS. He had 51 grabs for 588 yards and 13 TD's. At 6'5" and 270lbs, he's almost a sure shot to get drafted in the NFL.

If you're a stat dork.
Clenz' post is dead on. You do good as a sophmore or junior and teams make sure they put an extra guy on you, or never run or roll out to your side of the field.
Trust me.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

First team receiver and second team running back. I'd say that's quite a dangerous tandem
