Is that because you want him gone mj or do you think he would be a good candidate? I was gonna title the thread "Andy Talley to take over at UM" as a joke.mainejeff wrote:Jack Cosgrove.
One of the guys I was thinking would be on the list. It would be cool if Dave Dickenson were hired on his staff but that seems like a long shot scenario.Beef wrote:My vote is for Pflugrad...
I wonder how the Hauck staff is gonna shake out as far as who goes with him and if he will be contacting his brother for a spot on his staff at UNLV?dbackjon wrote:Paulson
Seems like he would be a pretty good QB coach, no?Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:One of the guys I was thinking would be on the list. It would be cool if Dave Dickenson were hired on his staff but that seems like a long shot scenario.Beef wrote:My vote is for Pflugrad...
That's what I wonder about? I mean Brett Favre is a great QB but you might not want him as a QB coach considering that there are some things he does that others aren't gonna be able to pull off. I wonder if DD is in that category because of how quickly he recognized and checked off what was open on the field? I'd like to see him get a chance though.Grizalltheway wrote:Seems like he would be a pretty good QB coach, no?Ursus A. Horribilis wrote: One of the guys I was thinking would be on the list. Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Wayne Gretsky SUCKED as coaches.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:That's what I wonder about? What is he doing now?Silenoz wrote:Joe Glenn

Only if you get a cheap thrill out of watching somebody get drawn and quartered when they enter Missoula city limits...Silenoz wrote:Joe Glenn

Seen Joe and his family in Missoula several times since he left and the reception was always like a prodigal son coming home. People were happy to have him at Red's and buy him a beer and talk about what was going on.AZGrizFan wrote:Only if you get a cheap thrill out of watching somebody get drawn and quartered when they enter Missoula city limits...Silenoz wrote:Joe Glenn

Where the hell did MVD get Pro coaching? Not the best candidate for the job, IMO.SuperHornet wrote:I'm shocked that the one name that's generating the most angst at eGriz hasn't come up here.
From all reports, Mike Van Diest is a VERY good coach, has pro/FBS coaching pedigree, and a championship record.
That's a real good name that has been bandied about for a long time now also. I think Van Diest is a very good candidate but some Griz people can be very myopic about who the candidates are due to what he has done just down the road a piece. I think he is a very good candidate but not the only one or even necessarily the lead horse yet. I think he would do very well for us as far as coaching I don't know enough about his recruiting ties to say on that matter though.SuperHornet wrote:I'm shocked that the one name that's generating the most angst at eGriz hasn't come up here.

Same here, I'm not sure where all the venom started from when he left, but I've never heard it from his former players.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:
I know a few guys that played for him personally and I never heard them say a bad word about the guy so I'll have to assume that the "Joe left us high & dry and just walked out" is a Griz message board state of mind that has been perpetuated for quite some time now.
And it's those message board folks I'm talkin' about. Personally, I could care less. Wasn't hooked into the scene to know how (allegedly) crappy he handled his departure....but it obviously left a bad taste in some people's mouths....Ursus A. it was a horse shit story that was concocted by some people that wanted to be hurt that Joe took a pay raise and went to Wyoming. I asked one of them from the 2001 team about the rumor that was floating around about him and the team meeting dismissal and he said he didn't know what I was talking about.Beef wrote:Same here, I'm not sure where all the venom started from when he left, but I've never heard it from his former players.Ursus A.
