WR Chris Bell of Norfolk State was invited to the NFL Combine today.

According to a newspaper online JMU OG Dorian Brooks has been invited to the combine.

Wow. That's great news for him. I expected Moats, but did not expect Brooks would get one.

It will be a real shame if Marc Mariani does not get invited.

I do recall saying that Brooks and Moats would get invited back in December, spot on with yet another prediction. Great news for those two.

Hes a good FCS player, but your as dumb as you are because you think the guy is good enough to be in the NFL. He would just be taking a spot from someone that deserves it and had a shot of making a roster.

Not me, Biermann is a legit NFL player Mariani is nowhere near as talented as Biermann and his size doesnt translate to the position hes playing either. Sure he could get a shot but I doubt it, the NFL is more interested in size than productivity in most cases.

While Mariani doesn't have the talent of Percy Harvin, they are of comparable size and Mariani has the potential to run a similar 40 time. Harvin is listed at 5'11", 184 on nfl.com(http://www.nfl.com/players/percyharvin/ ... =HAR829482) , and ran 4.41 at the Combine. Mariani is listed at 6', 185 and is capable of running in the low 4.4's. I don't believe that Terrell Hudgins, the All-American receiver from Elon and runner up for the Payton Award, got invited to the Combine either.

His size??? Really? Look at Wes Welker of the New England Patriots, he's 5'9" and he's had over 100 receptions each of the last 3 years. Now I'm not comparing Mariani to Welker, but size shouldn't be a factor.

The NFL wants tall physical black WR's and very few if any guys Mariani's size get a legit shot.

I wish him well just dont see it.

What about Steve Smith, isn't he like 5' 9" and he is one of the best in the league. Here is another little tidbit, the average height of receivers drafted in the 2008 NFL draft was 73.2 inch's or 6'1"

The NFL is jaded toward white (skill) players, he wont get a real shot.

Of the nine winners of the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation's top college receiver since 1994, five are 5-11 or shorter. The top five receivers selected in each of the last 10 NFL drafts have an average height of a tick over 6-0. And of those 50 drafted receivers, only three--Plaxico Burress in 2000, Randy Moss in 1998 and J.J. Stokes in 1995--are 6-4 or taller. Wes Welker, Santonio Holmes DeSean Jackson, Eddie Royal, Deion Branch, Santana Moss, Antwaan Randel El, Steve Smith, Percy Harvin(all 5'11 or shorter) Hines Ward, Reggie Wayne, Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt are all only 6 foot just to name a few. You hardly have to be a redwood to play WR.
