What FCS School landed the highest ranked recruit? Was it Liberty who scored the 4/5 star LB?

Yeah, that dude has a list of offers that I haven't seen from the other recruits. That means a lot more than theis "stars" shit that people are hanging their hat on as if it's something real. :thumb:

Definitely, star ratings are completely over hyped. Offers are where it is at. Plus rivals doesn't even care about states like ND, we signed the best player in the state this year, he is quick and ran for 2600 yards and 40 TDs, had a offers from regional FCS schools. Rivals and scout don't even mention him. Heck, our best offensive and defensive players of the past decade were zero star recruits and I am pretty sure scouts and rivals didn't even give them a profile.

The thing about the # of offers is if a kid commits very early lot a lot of kids he might not have as many offers. If a kid waits till Jan he'll probably have more offers.

JMU landed the highest ranked player for his respective position of any to sign with a I-AA, Dejor Simmons, ranked by Rivals the #16 All Purpose Back in the country (and the only one in the top 30 to go I-AA):
http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewrank.as ... &Year=2010
4 I-A offers mentioned by Rivals (Uconn, Duke, Marshall, Toledo) plus WVU according to Scout and East Carolina (the below article and highlight film). Was injured his senior season, still rushed for over 600 yds in 4 games. Injury may have caused him to lose out on more BCS offers. Highlight film from his junior yr:
http://hamptonroads.com/recruiting/player/171

In all fairness, scout.com, which doesn't have a separate ranking category for all purpose back, at running back has him as a 2 star and has this for the top running backs committed to I-AA:
#43 Dawson to UNI
#106 McKinney to SIU
#117 Brown to EWU
#124 Hinds to Weber
#134 Simmons to JMU (doesn't even have him updated to JMU though, even though he committed several weeks ago).

You do know that the guy who started this topic is a Coastal fan, right?

I know it's cool to talk about how LU fans are so arrogant, but quoting a Coastal fan isn't the best time to do it. :twocents:

Haha. One is a current Big South power, the other a has-been. But the Big South is merely a speck on the map compared to the mighty Big Sky, so I can understand how you were confused. :)

Seriously tho. LU fans can say some ridiculous things, but to be fair, no one knows much about us because of the conference we're in. While I don't think we could beat Montana (as one of our posters, who I believe is a former player and thus is slightly more biased than I, said), I think we're a good, top 25 FCS team, and that we deserve more respect than we get, but less respect than we give ourselves. :)

C'mon now...just giving you a hard time :) ....BUT...I would think #16 in the country would merit a few more BCS school offers

Every team that looked at this kid offered him. Check out the list...pretty legit. In a recent interview, it came out he turned down Arizona and Virginia as well. That's Big XII, SEC, PAC-10, ACC, MWC, and C-USA teams that offered.
