Western Carolina Just Got A Lot Better...

By signing Roland Johnson of Byrnes (SC) and Andre Whitmire of Spartanburg(SC). Roland is a D-1A player that didn't get noticed until he moved to Byrnes for his senior year. There, he promptly led the Rebels in tackles from the nose guard position. He is a beast on the field, playing sideline to sideline and a quiet humble young man off the field. The Catamounts may have gotten the steal of the recruiting season.

I don't know Whitmire personally, but he is also a beast. Tremendous athlete and from what I hear a good kid.

anyway, a lot of good players come from the Upstate of SC, especially for the FCS.

to name a few:
SC State QB Malcolm Long(that's his name right? I can't believe I don't remember)
Wofford wideout Andy Strickland
GSU DB JP Shippy

that's from Gaffney High School alone...

Was hoping Roland Johnson would come to Gardner-Webb following Byrnes teammate Jamie Dunaway who did one helluva of a job starting at right tackle (OL) this past season as a true freshman. Better to be a canine than a feline IMO. Here's hoping GWU makes it two in a row against the Cats this fall.

Oh - you're talking football. By your post title I thought that rural electrification finally made it to Cullowhee...

You telling me a guy 50 miles from Clemson and USC didn't get noticed? Doubtful. Who said he was a FBS (no more D1A) player?

Rich, calm down man. BigApp is just messing with the Cantamount fans. This is how things work in the ASU-West Carolina rivalry...

There's nothing wrong with being excited, you should be. Just like we hillbillies are every year. :thumb:

Was not a WCU fan that made that statement. I'm sure you're just hoping it NOT true.

Historically speaking, we App fans are pretty much banking on it not being true....... :coffee:
