What if the Grizzlies DIDN'T Make The Playoffs?

Sapper, our pimply-faced newbie from Pocatello, has raised an interesting (albeit entirely impossible) scenario: What if the Grizzlies did NOT win the Big Sky Conference in 2010? Granted, in his short lifetime he's never know anything BUT the Griz winning the conference and making deep runs into the playoffs, but let's think hypothetically for a moment...what if his scenario happened?
Worse yet, what if they didn't even make the playoffs?
884 straight weeks ranked in top 25
14 straight (and counting) outright (9) or shared (5) Big Sky Conference titles (and 15 of last 16)
72-8 conference record since 2000
Winningest Division I program this decade
17 straight playoff appearances
7 NC appearances ('95, '96, '00, '01, '04, '08, '09)
2 National Championships
7-1 record in semi-final games
Only BSC team since 1993 to make it past 2nd round of playoffs
How would the perception of the BSC change in the minds of other fans if the Griz were finally sitting on the sidelines come playoff-time? Would the view change, or would it take a sustained period of Griz mediocrity to believe? Would chaos ensue? Or would jubilation be the order of the day?
Discuss...

I wouldn't have to risk my life 1-3 times on the interstate in November/December
Also, it would be horrible

BTW, I'd happily make a consulting trip to Montana. I need airfare, hotel accommodations, a per diem for beer, one of the girls always hanging around Chris, one burger at Red's, and a look under the Grizo's skirt for my efforts.

NOW you're gettin' the picture.
But the burger you want is at the Mo Club.

Thanks for the correction. Having only second hand stories to go off of and no pics from the Lunch in Missoula thread, I have to wing it. I'll have my law team correct the contract.

Check out "ODU women's basketball." Don't believe you're not immune. If it happens, some will celebrate an incredible accomplishment, others will bitch, some will talk about what needs to be fixed, and life continues. It's just sports.

Perhaps we could see how life is right now in Chapel Hill?

I would love to see Montana not make the playoffs and not take the conference. I have seen programs rise and fall and its sooner or later Montana will. I watched ISU destroy Boise State in the dome in 94 and then I watched ISU get murdered in Boise in 2008 that is what makes football great. I would love to see Montana move to the FBS so they could get the crap kicked out of them for 5 or 10 years and teach there fans some humility. I think that this year is the year things change.

Or it's the start of things getting even worse for the rest of the Sky

1) there would be a huge sucking sound as the ground imploded...eminating from Missoula, Mt
2) somebody would be hung from main hall
3) Thousands of Montana football fans would show up at Wa/Griz on Nov 27 and wonder why the stadium was empty and where the team was
4) Families with both Griz and Cat alum would finally be able to eat Thanksgiving dinner together and go hunting
.....and the sun would rise the next day..

I would love it. I respect the program, but not many of the fans. They swear they're USC or Notre Dame.

After all 16 teams are announced on ESPN, a sphere the size of a beach ball made entirely of antimatter would develop at midfield in Wa-Griz and begin spinning rapidly. Casuing the surround environment to collapse into it until the entire CS.com world is no more.

So, in other words, it would cause the island to "move"?
