What offense does the Citadel run? Is it like all the other military academeys who run the veer option/3 running back attack?

The Citadel Bulldogs run the Spread. and damn effectively.

here are my 2008 prediculations in no particular order, one team per day.

The Citadel Bulldogs

The development of Cadet Bart Blanchard at QB will be a huge factor for the Cadet's hopes in 2008. Blanchard led the 'Dogs to victories over Elon and the Vagina Military Institute following the injury to Cadet, soon to be 2nd Lt., Duran Lawson. Who will replace All-Socon OL Chris Mcdowell and RB Tory Cooper? These are also questions that need to be answered. On defense we also lost two All-Socon players in Willie Rowell and Trevar Broughton. Coach Higgins has brought in a good class of new Knobs who some will be asked to contribute immediately. Cadet Jonathan Vests return will be a tremendous factor on that side of the ball.

schedule is tough with Klempson Cow college, and some Gators from Florida with Princeton and the "always tough" Webber International rounding out the Out of Conference opponents.

prediculation
8-4 with the first playoff appearance sine 1992

tomorrow= Vermin Paladins

So predicting 6-2 in the SoCon - losses to?
I'm guessing App State and maybe Furman.

we beat vermin 10-9 in General Hagoods' House in 2002. lost to them in double overtime in 05 and well we ALL KNOW the result from last season...... A glorious victory by the Cadets!

The Vermin Paladins have a tall order to improve upon their mediocre finish of a year ago. Gone are Renaldo Gay and Jerome Felton. the offense will have to be different with a slow qb in the offensive coordinators son. on defense the paladins defense against the air last year was reminesent of Argentinas Air Force during the Falkland Islands War. Vermin will be lucky to equal their record of a year ago and i look for them to be in the bottom half of the conference.

App State

After 3 straight National Championships it is time to "render unto Ceaser".

Yosef will have to replace his entire offensive line and his best reciever and running back but with Armanti Edwards running the show they have to be the favorite. The health of Edwards is key for the Apps because without him, as we saw last year, App State is very beatable. The loss of Trey Elder as the bacvkup QB may be the biggest loss of all to this team as he was a steadying influence when Edwards was hurt. Elder was also the epitome of a "team player". On defense the Apps will be similiar to a year ago when they let some people back into ballgames that should have been over.

'
Citdogs prediculation

8-4 sharing the SoCon Championship with The Citadel and Elon.

oh where to begin,
first off, we lost are best TWO recievers last year (1.batichon 2.jackson) but we got hillary and b-quick filling those spots. no big loss if any.
2. armanti played both games we lost and we won every game he wasnt there. but youre right, we need a backup qb immediately.
3. we lose most of the starting oline but the depth at that position is rediculous. not to mention the guys coming up on the depth chart have experience due to starters' injuries last season. so no real loss there.
4. RB position is going to be strongest we've had. ever. the homer in me wants to say it will be an easy transition but reallistically there will prolly be a two game learning curve for these guys at the start of the season.
5. the defense will be the complete opposite of last year. we lost our entire secondary so our DL will be the experienced group this year with our secondary being the youngins.

weaknesses: qb depth and secondary, (longsnapper? kicker?)

strengths: everything else

i can see us losing two ooc at the most. maybe one conference game.
