Coastal Carolina University senior football player Josh Hoke has been voted the 2006-07 Big South Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced today by the League office. He graduated with a 3.99 GPA in communications and departed as the Big South’s all-time leading scorer with 297 points as well as the all-time leader in field goals (40) and PATs (177). Hoke, who holds the League’s single-game kick scoring record with 16 points, had a streak of 85 consecutive PATs made this past season (dating back to 2005), tied the Big South single-game record with four field goals vs. Elon, Sept. 2, ranked second in league with 79 points and helped Coastal capture its third consecutive Big South football title and the Conference’s first-ever berth in the FCS playoffs.
