Big South Overview

Figure I can't let the BS Conference go unnoticed. I will start today with Coastal Carolina and do another school every day.

Coastal has some growing to do. Zach, MacDowall Jamie Childers and William Richardson are the leading QB’s. After Richardson’s show last season, we might see equal time of both players. Childers is better under pressure but doesn’t tower over the line like Richardson. Kicker, Justin Durham has been improving and he has to fill Hoke’s place, which is quite overwhelming. The rest of the O and D lines are coming together. RB Maurice Odom has been showing great signs of strength with tackles broken and yds carried. WR Eric O’Neal showed a great performance in the Teal and Black game, tying with Childers in overall rushing of 36 yards for the Teal Team. Coastal opens with Penn State, followed by Colgate. The first win of the Season won’t come until Week 3, but I think we’ll see Coastal go 8-4 this season.

Uh, Cinco de Mayo is growing more distant by the day. Where are the aforementioned Big South previews?

Sorry, been too busy with work to do a good preview. I'll try to get to it asap! I promise.

What will be interesting to see is, with the 2010 autobid coming, how the Big South and NEC schedules change over the next few years.

Yep. Funny how schools like NDSU suddenly schedule much differently now that they're playoff eligible. I expect Big South schools to do the same.

We'll see less and less of the DII teams on the schedule and we'll see better FCS schools in their place.
