Wasn't Doolittle coaching DL?

Ought to have more input from the G-W posters here fairly quick since most are tied into the OL.

Doolittle coached D line his first year and moved to O line last year. O line was his first love. Hate to see him go. Here's hoping they can find a suitable replacement before summer school [2nd session] cranks up.

Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

Hate to see him leave. Hope they find a good replacement. Would love to see Coach Hansen from Byrnes. Good man and All-American OL from the Citadel. Don't think he is looking, but you can always wish :D .

I had kind of wondered if Mike D would stick around once Stan D's eligibility ran out. Did he go back to the high school ranks?

Anyone know where GWU 2003 OL graduate, Lee Chambers ended up after Buffalo? He apparently didn't follow Turner Gill to Kansas and doesn't appear to still be on the Buffalo staff. Could he be a possibility? He coached RB's at Buffalo but as a former GWU OL should know our system. Wonder if there is any interest on the part of Lee Chambers or GWU? You can get a bit more info on Lee by accessing the GWU Football page, check out the archives and go to last fall's GameNotes for the U of Buffalo game. Pretty tough time of the year to try and get a really solid coach between the end of spring ball and start of summer camp. Hate to see Doolittle go if that is the reality but not totally surprised either.

What about Kris King? Former GWU OL and GA. Pretty good OL from what I read and should know the system. Was @ GWU in 2008 as a GA working with the OL.

Well, it's official. Coach Doo called last night. :( He is going to be OC at a high school in Ga. which is only about 20 minutes from his home. After 3 years of living in his office I'm sure he will be glad to be able to have a normal home life. We hate to see him leave but he assured us that Coach Pizzo is working extremely hard to find a great replacement. We wish him nothing but the best. :thumb:

Don't want to read too much into BigDawgPop's post but does anyone else find it a bit odd for the GW OC to be charged with looking for a OL Coach or is that the typical approach? Does the OC find the O-position coach candidates and the head coach just interview, make the offer, etc.? Or is Pizzo being giving more responsibility as part of his grooming for the GW HC job once Coach Patton decides to retire? Just questions, any answers out there?

Like I've said a bunch....Patton could hang it up any year now, and the G-W brass would be stupid to not consider Pizzo as the top candidate to replace him when he does, so not overly shocking that Pizzo would have alot of the input into finding Doolittle's replacement. I agree with the thinking about King being brought back...good guy.

Why am I not surprised. Patton has been blessed the last few years with great o-line coaches - and everyone knew that Doo would leave with Stan. The o-line coach before Doolittle did some great recruiting and brought us Cory. As far as Coach Pizzo making decisions on a replacement, he has been doing this for a while too. GWU needs to do for football what they did for basketball, fire PATTON! He has been useless for quite some time, spending the schools money on Bahama and Vegas trips, etc. Only satisfied with a mediocre season of 6-5; not investing himself, coaches or players into the program, pushing for a championship season with championship training. GWU could be so much more. Disappointing.

Haven't seen anything official yet, but it sounds like Kris King has been hired as the new OL Coach. Sounds like a good hire from what I've heard. Anybody got anything??

I was able to find this much out about Kris King:

Was GA at UAB last year. Played on the USA Football National Team. Was named to the IFAF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ALL-STAR TEAM 2007.

The following Bio was on the USA Football National Team website:

Four-year starter and two-time All-Big South selection at Gardner-Webb ... An honorable mention Division I Football Championship Subdivision All-America selection by the Football Gazette... Also an All-Region selection by that publication ... Graded out as Gardner-Webbs top offensive lineman as a senior ... Started all 11 games in 2006 ... Reliably accurate snapper ... Anchored a young offensive line that started three sophomores alongside him ... Head Coach: Steve Patton.

Good to know he has ties to the program, so it should be a pretty smooth transition. Experience will be the only worry, but you gotta start somewhere. If him being hired is true, then he will have our full support!!! :thumb:
